Today I'm going to take you to a little-known beauty, popularly known as "Devil's Bridge", which was at the top of my travel list. But when I went there, I found much more than I imagined. The rock structure of the land in which the bridge is located was as beautiful as the bridge itself. It was like the stone waves under the bridge.

Now let me tell you about the details of this trip that fascinated me.

To go to the Devil's Bridge, I moved towards the village of Sille in Konya province. This is an interesting place, about 11 km from the city center. The historical structure of the village makes the region more interesting. The village bears deep traces of deep-rooted empires such as Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman. It is known that the Devil's Bridge was built during the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

The bridge is far from the main street of the village. Since there was no busy road leading to it, I had to jump over the iron barriers on the mountain road and descend into the valley. By this time it was getting close to dark. Moreover, the bridge, which at that moment seemed deserted, was surrounded by the sounds of dogs. But I couldn't give up. I had to walk a long way to get to the bridge, and who knows how beautiful it was up close? I kept going.

The road I used to descend to the Devil's Bridge - of course, this is not a road - was quite steep. I started to descend cautiously but quickly, carrying a long stick in my hand in case of a possible dog threat.

As I got closer to the bridge, my excitement started to grow. There was a big cave near the Devil's Bridge. The cave looked quite mysterious in this desolation. If I had a friend with me, I probably would have wanted to enter it by the light of the phone. Maybe I should be glad that I was alone. Such a sense of curiosity in an unfamiliar place could have bad consequences.

As I got closer to the cave, the bridge came into view. That first encounter was beautiful. The imposing appearance of the bridge was in harmony with the terrain.

Devil's Bridge was originally built as an aqueduct. Over time, it started to serve as a bridge outside of this purpose. But people did not prefer to cross this narrow and high road. According to the locals of the village, there have been many cases of injury here. If I had the time, I would have considered crossing that road. Fortunately, I had no friends and no time 😄

I went under the bridge and went up a little bit and this is what it looked like.

Then I turned back, moving carefully, and I heard birdsong coming from between the rocks. There was probably a mother bird with her babies around.

Before I left, I took a closer look at the architecture of the bridge, which had been standing for centuries, hiding great engineering skills. According to my estimates, it would stand for hundreds of years more.

And I started to turn around amongst the undulating cliffs. I'm saying goodbye to you with this magnificent shot I took when I reached the lowest point. Doesn't it look so beautiful? Like a work of art!

Bugün sizleri az bilinen muhteşem bir güzelliğe götüreceğim. Halk arasında "Şeytan Köprüsü" ismiyle anılan bu yer gezi listemin en üst sıralarındaydı. Fakat oraya gittiğimde hayal ettiğimden çok daha fazlasını buldum. Köprünün içinde bulunduğu arazinin kayaç yapısı en az köprü kadar güzeldi. Köprünün altında bulunan taştan dalgalar gibiydi...

Şimdi izninizle beni kendine hayran bırakan bu gezinin detaylarından bahsedeceğim.

Şeytan Köprüsü'ne gitmek için Konya ilinde bulunan Sille köyüne doğru hareket ettim. Burası şehir merkesine yaklaşık 11 km uzaklıkta ilginç bir yer. Köyün tarihi yapısı bölgeyi daha ilgi çekici bir hale getiriyor. Köy Roma, Bizans, Osmanlı gibi köklü imparatorluklardan derin izler taşıyor. Şeytan Köprüsü'nün 16. yüzyılda Osmanlı İmparatorluğu zamanında yapıldığı biliniyor.

Köprü köyün ana caddesinden uzakta bulunuyor. Buraya giden işlek bir yol olmadığı için dağ yolundaki demir bariyerlerden atlayıp vadiye doğru inmeye başladım. Bu sırada karanlığın çökmesine az bir zaman kalmıştı. Üstelik, o anda ıssız gözüken köprünün çevresinden köpek sesleri yükseliyordu. Ama vazgeçemezdim. Köprüye gelmek için uzun bir süre yürümek zorunda kalmıştım. Ve kimbilir yakından ne kadar güzeldi? Devam ettim.

Şeytan Köprüsü'ne inmek için kullandığım yol -tabi burası bir yol sayılmaz- oldukça sarp bir araziydi. Dikkatli fakat hızlı adımlar aşağıya doğru inmeye başladım. Çevrede bulunan olası köpek tehdidene karşı elimde uzun bir değnek vardı.

Köprüye yaklaştıkça heyecanım artmaya başladı. Şeytan Köprüsü'nün yakınında büyük bir mağara vardı. Bu ısssızlığın içinde mağara oldukça gizemli görünüyordu. Yanımda bir arkadaşım olsa muhtemelen telefonun ışığıyla içine girmek isteyecektim. Yalnız olduğum için belki de sevinmeliyim. Bilmediğim bir yerde merak duygusu kötü olabilir.

Mağaraya iyice yaklaştığımda köprü yakından gözükmeye başladı. O ilk karşılaşma anı çok güzeldi. Köprüsünün heybetli görüntüsü, arazi yapısı ile uyum içindeydi.

Şeytan Köprüsü aslında bir su kemeri olarak inşa edilmiş. Zamanla bu amacının dışında köprü olarak hizmet vermeye başlamış. Fakat bu dar ve yüksek yoldan insanlar geçmeyi pek tercih etmiyor. Köyün yerlilerinin aktardığı bilgilere göre bu bölgede çok sayıda yaralanma vakası olmuş. Vaktim olsaydı, o yoldan da geçmeyi düşünürdüm. Neyseki, hem arkadaşım hem de vaktim yoktu 😄

Köprünün altından geçip biraz yukarıya çıktım. Karşısı böyle gözüküyordu.

Daha sonra dikkatle hareket ederek geriye doğru döndüm. O sırada kayalıkların arasından kuş sesleri geliyordu. Muhtemelen etrafta yavruları olan bir anne kuş vardı.

Karanlığa yakalanmadan dönmek için hızlı hareket edecektim. Gitmeden önce köprünün mimari yapısını daha yakından inceledim. Yüzyıllardır ayakta duran bu köprüde muhteşem müdendislik yetenekleri saklıydı. Tahminlerime göre yüzlerce yıl daha ayakta duracaktı.

Ve dalgalı kayalıklar arasından dönmeye başladım. En alçak noktaya vardığımda çektiğim bu nuhteşem kare ile sizlere veda ediyorum. Ne kadar güzel görünüyor değil mi? Sanki bir sanat eseri!
