(en-tr) School Environment Cleanup Activity 🌲 Okul Çevresi Temizliği Etkinliği

Today's children will be tomorrow's elders. For a better future, children need to be raised well in every aspect. Our school is very sensitive in this regard. But we also know that some knowledge is not permanent when it remains in theory. Therefore, some time ago, we took action one morning with the children.

Bugünün çocukları yarının büyükleri olacaklar. Daha iyi bir gelecek çocukların her konuda iyi yetiştirilmesi gerekiyor. Okulumuz bu konuda oldukça hassas davranıyor. Fakat şunu da biliyoruz ki bazı bilgiler teoride kaldığı zaman kalıcı olmaz. O nedenle bir süre önce çocuklarla birlikte bir sabah harekete geçtik.

Children are always enthusiastic about hands-on learning. It's a different form of play for them. It is no coincidence that countries that have discovered this fact are several steps ahead in education. Our country - Turkey - realized this fact late. Starting next year, there will be some innovations in the education system.

Çocuklar uygulamalı eğitim konusunda daima istekli oluyorlar. Onlar için oyun oynamanın farklı bir şekli bu. Bu gerçeği keşfeden ülkelerin eğitimde birkaç adım öne geçmesi tesadüf değil. Ülkemiz -Türkiye- bu gerçeği geç fark etti. Önümüzdeki yıldan itibaren eğitim sisteminde bazı yenilikler yapılacak.

We had already started cleaning up around our school while these developments were still being discussed. This is the biggest advantage of village schools. Children are more eager for hands-on learning than children in the city. And there are plenty of activity areas to fulfill this desire.

Bizler henüz bu gelişmeler konuşulurken okulumuzun etrafını temizlemeye başlamıştık. Köy okullarının en büyük avantajı bu işte. Uygulamalı eğitim konusunda çocuklar şehirdeki çocuklara göre daha istekliler. Ayrıca bu isteklerini karşılayacak bolca etkinlik alanı mevcut.

In previous years, for example, we had sapling planting events. The children roamed the mountain slopes like ants, digging holes like moles wherever they went. If we do another similar activity, I would love to share it with you. Both the devoted work of the children and the beauty of nature are worth seeing.

Geçen yıllarda fidan dikme etkinliklerimiz olmuştu örneğin. Çocuklar karıncalar gibi dağın yamaçlarında dolaşıyor, gittikleri her yerde köstebekler gibi çukurlar açıyorlardı. Benzer bir etkinlik daha yapacak olursak sizinle paylaşmayı çok isterim. Hem çocukların o özverili çalışmaları hem de doğanın güzellikleri görülmeye değer.

Let's get back to our main topic, environmental cleanliness. As you can see from the photos, the children are very cheerful. They can do this every day. They don't complain. But we adults are not like that. When I was in the army, our least favorite job was cleaning the environment in the morning. The things we picked up were usually cigarette butts. It was a boring job for non-smokers like me. In fact, if the polluters were a little careful, there would be no need for such tedious work...

Asıl konumuz olan çevre temizliğine dönelim. Fotoğraflardan anlayacağınız üzere çocuklar oldukça neşeliler. Onlar her gün bunu yapabilir. Şikayet de etmezler. Ama biz yetişkinler öyle değiliz. Askerdeyken en sevmediğimiz iş sabah yapılan çevre temizlikleriydi. Topladığımız şeyler genellikle sigara izmaritleri olurdu. Benim gibi sigara içmeyenler için sıkıcı bir işti bu. Aslından çevreyi kirletenler biraz dikkatli olsa bu tür sıkıcı işlere gerek kalmaz.

At the end of the day, the children had some messages to take away.
They learned that the best way to clean is not to pollute at all. This was our main goal. Anyway, looking at the types of garbage we collected, it was the children themselves who polluted the environment the most. I hope they will be more conscious after such activities.
