Potamarcha Congener and Neurothemis Fluctuans: Two Species Of Dragonflies In The Libellulidae Family

Libellulidae is the largest dragonfly family in the world, with members of more than 1000 species distributed in almost all countries. Two species of which are Potamarcha congener and Neurothemis fluctuans.

Potamarcha congener, commonly known as the yellow-tailed ashy skimmer, is sometimes also called chaser or swampwatcher. There are differences in the color of the male and female bodies. The back and chest of the males are dark gray, while the females are bright yellow with black stripes. The habitat of this species is found scattered in South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Oceania.

Neurothemis fluctuans, commonly known as the red grasshawk, sometimes also called common parasol or grasshawk dragonfly. What is characteristic of this dragonfly is the color of its body and striking red wings. Neurothemis fluctuans have a wide range of habitats in many Asian countries.
