A whole lot of fun with a little mix of stress just to remind you life is still full of surprises ahead of you.

My year end.

First it was filled with me recovering from a throbbing head ache. I partied too hard the previous night. Why you ask did I do that to myself, the simple answer is me on a holiday for the first part of my journey ahead. I have to have the time to really flush out what shit I have accumulated within me as part of my self inflicted mental training followed by inflicted push forward into something I had no idea I would step on. Like stepping into a mine even though you seen it but think you can survive it, sort of.

The noise.

Walking around Toledo has been quite an eye opener for me. Maybe I just walked without any thought looking back or I really just did not see anything in making a big noise. I think also some of my relatives did do that with all the noise for the end of year/start of a new year. Well last night was nothing I had seen for a very long time. Fireworks firing everywhere. A jumbled mess of chaotic BOOMs and BANGs to greet me with loud explosive force into my ears. When it first started I was startled like a deer being hit by headlights. Then the surprise disappeared and I could see the joy in everyone faces as they let out steam from the previous year. That is my interpretation on what I saw.

An accident.

Drinking was prevalent everywhere. Young people enjoying the night with their motorbikes. In Toledo, the law is lax to say the least for some things. Like helmets when things are in full swing of a celebration. Since when someone says a celebrations even the authorities are celebrating themselves thinking and hoping people will be responsible. That was not the case with most of the people celebrating. Zooming up and down the main street, making as much noise as they could. We were going to do some karaoke since, we are filipinos and music is life. Mic, no battery. A friend volunteers to get new ones from SevenEleven. Like I said even is enjoying sa drinks are free flowing. The friend rides their bike with another one behind them. No helmet since, they think it is ok. Only five hundred metres will not harm you. Then some random young guys decide to do a U-turn just ahead of my friend with no signal no warning just cut straight ahead of them. BOOM. Five people all thrown from the bikes involved. The friend ends up under one bike. There is a strong small community mind within Toledo so it was like lightning flash news beaming what happened so everyone is running to the spot.

Lucky accident or unlucky.

No one died. The friend suffered a massive wound to their head but was the first one up with no help from anyone so they were quickly driven to the hospital. The other party had one of them on the ground not moving. Everyone is starting to scream at the rider who did the U-turn. Luckily the mob building were calmed by calmer people within the crowd. The one motionless starts to move but was told to not move till the ambulance came since no visible bleeding. In the end the rider taken by the police for questioning, their friend taken by an ambulance. When it first occurred I could hear the crowds gripe of the ambulance arriving very slow, but from what I have seen in Australia the response last night was decent.

The lesson.

Going back from the scene to continue our disrupted party everyone was glossing over the simple fact of no one involved in the accident wearing helmets. In the end while they all nodded agreement or at the least looking like they agreed to logic of safety we continued with other conversations not exploring too far from what had just happened. There is the term ugat ugat, I think it is being staunch occurring from people arriving at my friends place trying sound like they are prepared to action something to the other party, a waste of time really in my point of view but we are all human and we are emotionally driven so anything triggering an extreme response will always bring out the ugat ugat in us once in a while. Time was of the essence so the injuries of the friend with the big head wound I have yet to know the outcome of but no news means good news since they are and were in the hospital when I left the party at two in the morning.

So yes that is my recollection of last night. I would have done a look back at my year behind, but why would I do that when I cannot take back how its panned out for me at this very moment in writing this post. In the end it's really up to you my me, myself and I will probably look at when I have the want and the time to read or see how it was for me. The beauty of immutable data is no one can change what you put here and I will try to have my will put some clause in there for who ever gets what I give them in the future to read what I was and who I had been.

Lets end this now since I have other things I want to do like sit in front of the screen reading other peoples shit or just doing other random silly little things to pass the new years day today.
