From Soajo Mountain Range - The Vez River | Portugal

Hi everybody :)

The visual scenario that i share today is integrated in the location shared in one of the previous articles, where i reveal another small piece of this country that is Portugal, but this aspect deserves a special focus directed towards itself, towards the line that separates the two banks of this town, traced by the waters of this very special river.

It is born in the depths of the majestic Serra do Soajo (Soajo mountain range) located within the stunning scenery of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, this place that i once called a refuge, where i go whenever i need to relax and recharge my energy.
The Vez River flows serenely through there, this mountain river that captivates the attention of everyone who is lucky enough to witness its magnificence and unique beauty. This watercourse is approximately 36 km long and creates a stunning scenery, especially in Arcos de Valdevez, where history intertwines with the crystal clear waters.

Arcos de Valdevez is more than just a town on the banks of the Vez River, it is the birthplace of the famous Arcos de Valdevez Tournament, a historic event that played a crucial role in Portugal's Independence. On this soil, centuries ago, courage and determination echoed on the banks of the Vez River, giving rise to a significant chapter in the country's history.
As the main tributary of the imposing Lima River, the Vez River is part of its hydrographic basin, covering approximately 263.3 km², reflecting the significant influence it exerts on the surrounding landscape and biodiversity, contributing not only to the scenic beauty of the region, but also for its ichthyological richness since its waters are home to an abundant population of trout, transforming the river into a paradise for fishing enthusiasts. Fishing in this river has become so popular that a special area reserved for this activity was designated to preserve and make this practice sustainable and controlled.

When walking along the serene banks of this river it is impossible not to marvel at the harmony between the stunning nature and the rich historical narrative that permeates this region, and to make things even more exciting, the festive season with all its luminous upgrades ended up serving of scenery to complement all the natural beauty of this natural artery.
More than a description of a geographic space or a central theme, it ended up being a photo essay, an opportunity to practice a hobby with a fascinating model.
