Macro Photography Session | Cacti - Thorny Scenario

COVER.jpg

Hello everybody

Continuing to explore the gift i was offered.
A universe inside a box :)
When the scale becomes macro, the breadth of the area to be recorded is gigantic, and the different perspectives are an authentic amusement park, especially for those who delight in these approaches and minutes can become hours.
For today's session i chose a thorny subject, one that really stings if the proximity exceeds the imposed limit.

Before continuing to ramble and in an attempt to correctly name the plant, let me share a visual record of the box i'm talking about, that packaged universe waiting to be explored and in constant mutation:

Lately they spend the day at the window absorbing natural light and at night they are collected and who knows, they will be exposed to some artificial light during one of these sessions :)
After the photo session was finished, I quickly realized that the highlight would be the thorns, in abundance, camouflaging in a way the plant that lies beneath all that thorny tangle.
The color palette was marked by neutral tones and subtle green notes that peek out shyly.
Another plant that will stand out with its development and ability to present a structure very different from the one we can see now, even having the ability to flower :)
Just so you know, during this session, despite all the care when handling the model, i managed to poke myself at least 3 times :P nothing too painful.

Let me present today’s model:

Before moving onto the result...
  • My introductory thoughts about macro photography:

It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.

Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.

Let's now move onto the result:

It ended up resulting in a session of about 80% neutral tones, despite having added a little vibrance to create some distinction and distance the register from a more accentuated neutrality.
Maybe it would have been a good bet to leave the tones unchanged, but in the end i'm satisfied with the result.

The session is closed for today.
Hope you like it :)

The small cactus flower is unique, even though it has thorns, many people like it.
