I like to draw, paint and illustrate women. Basically for the simple fact that it is very easy for me to identify with any woman I portray, be it real or imaginary.

Me gusta dibujar, pintar e ilustrar mujeres.

Since yesterday I have been working on this portrait of a Caribbean woman. I say Caribbean because I see many of the women who live in the Caribbean in it. Regardless of the phenotypic characteristics, there is something in which we can all be found: the sun is part of our body.

I remember vacation seasons on the coast, with my brother and sometimes my sister as well. Our black skin resisting all the attacks of the sun that burned us, and my brother and I were as black as jet. My sister, however, with delicate white skin, but with her frizzy hair (like the youngest of my daughters) being free in the sun, at last far from the city. Thus, when she and I walked on the sand, we represented a beautiful contrast: my black skin and long straight hair with her white skin and curly brown hair.

This post is dedicated to her, because when I think of the Caribbean, her turbans are one of the things that first comes to mind. I hope to share the sun with her very soon.

Gracias!

Beautiful palette, and the textures are fantastic! I wish I had a skin like that :D

Technically a really strong painting! I can't get past the eyes, though... They're all black and flat, which kinda sucks all the life from the portrayed person. It's become a bit like a mask. I suspect you have done this intentionally, because you do know what you're doing. But why??
