​She promised that we would be together, but in fact she thought that she was going to meet someone else. In the end we spent all night together, and I was happy, but I am not happy now. I must confess that I am worried about her. I cannot believe that it is true. She has never been like that. And I can't believe that the man she is with is the one I love.

I left the room and went back to my own apartment, where I sat on the couch and stared at the wall. I was alone again. My mother had been right.
"What the hell is going on here?"
My head jerked up, and I saw a man dressed in black entering the apartment. He was tall, with a lean build and black hair cut short. His eyes were narrowed, and he wore a black leather jacket over a white shirt. He looked like a cop, or worse.
