TITOLO POST STEEMIT FICO.jpg

Hi everyone! Have you ever been to Enego, in the province of Vicenza? I had never been there, so I thought I'd visit it for the Christmas holidays.

ITA

Ciao a tutti!

The road to reach Enego is easy and wide, it can be traveled without problems even if there are snowdrifts on the sides.

Enego has only 1600 inhabitants, but being also a tourist destination, it is more developed than one would imagine.

ITA

I parked the car in the main square and first walked towards the church. When I caught a glimpse of it, I was surprised by that imposing staircase that I never expected to find.

ITA

IMG_6538.jpg

Enego is definitely a destination that I will visit several times because there are many possibilities for excursions. Also I am thinking of trying cross-country skiing and this would be the perfect area to learn.

ITA

First I went to visit the cathedral which is known to already exist in the 1400s, but unfortunately, it suffered major fires in the 1600s and 1700s, so today the structure, after subsequent restorations, is all too clean and modern.

ITA

The inside of the church was a bit gloomy due to the little sunny day. In the side aisle there was a large nativity scene, with lighting, water and moving elements.

ITA

Once I left the church, I redirected to Piazza San Marco where there is a tower from 1330. Originally the towers were 4 placed at the corners of the walls.

The square has a beautiful central fountain and a staircase leads to a terrace which offers a very nice view over the Val Brenta.

Shortly after, with the Christmas lights on, the city took on a festive character and some tourists began to animate the streets.

It was an interesting exploratory visit.
The center is pleasant, but as soon as you go outside, the city loses its charm mainly due to the buildings that are poorly designed also due to a lack of urban planning with few aesthetic building rules.

However, in my opinion the most interesting aspect is the naturalistic one that I can't wait to experience in the spring and summer months.

ITA

I think so too, the problem is that there is too much to visit and a lifetime is not enough.

Another beautiful place in Italy from you @alequandro
It's just 1600 inhbitants, that's like a small village in my place. It looks peaceful, too.
