A huge thank you to everyone! Meow!

First of all, I want to thank everyone who was concerned and left comments yesterday, but my greetings and thanks go especially to @ewkaw @monochromes and @ravenmus1c I can't explain how enormous their help was in allowing me to feel more at ease regarding my beautiful Tommy. Although the help was more than I asked for, it was practically what I needed since I had additional expenses for tests he had to have done, so every penny was used to improve Tommy's health.

This morning I got ready to go out, although Tommy looked "fine" he still had that strange look, it was very difficult to get to the vet since there is no elevator (for obvious reasons, earthquake) so going down 14 floors with a nervous cat was not the best option, but we managed even though I almost left my back on the floor, I didn't know Tommy weighed so much until now.

The clinic is quite small, located inside a pet store. My husband kept my phone and couldn't go in with me, so I couldn't take pictures inside the examination room. But the veterinarian gave him a thorough check-up and decided it would be best to do a blood test, which surprisingly was ready in half an hour. The doctor explained that many animals were very traumatized after the earthquake and that some even developed illnesses afterward. You could say the earthquake acted as a trigger for many animals that might have had some ailment before, but it wasn't so serious. With all the stress of the earthquake and its aftershocks, it manifested itself through various symptoms and other issues. I was very scared that the blood test would reveal a serious illness. It's no secret that in my country, healthcare is almost unaffordable if you have any health condition.

It pained me to see them drawing blood and handling him so much; he was very scared. Luckily, all his tests came back normal. Tommy is healthy, all things considered. Please excuse me, but I don't remember the name of the value the vet found high. She said it's the only problem she sees, and that it means the cat is stressed. His eyes get strange because that's his way of saying, "Hey, I feel bad." It's like he's signaling that something is wrong. But luckily, in his case, it's extreme stress from recent events. I was very relieved to hear that because, although we already suspected it, I was terrified it was something worse.

The vet prescribed a multivitamin, Lisoforte, and a pheromone perfume to help him relax with the scent. She said it would help him feel safer since he's currently in survival mode. I didn't know pheromone perfume for cats existed; I found it quite interesting. In the end, I only bought the multivitamin because I couldn't afford anything else. Everything she prescribed is incredibly expensive. The Lisoforte costs almost $20 and the pheromones $32, so I'll save it for later. They also offer payment plans, which would be a big help. For now, I'll try to make him feel as relaxed and comfortable as possible with love and affection.

The vet visit cost $30, the blood test $25, and the Laveforte cost me $12. I truly don't have words to express my gratitude for this support. My son, my husband, and I were very scared for Tommy, and knowing the diagnosis now is quite encouraging and lifts a weight off my shoulders after so much sadness and pain we've been experiencing lately. I hope you are all well, and again, thank you so much, family.

That's good news! @ewkaw is the best!
Yay!!! ❤❤
Happy that Tommy is ok.
Me (@brumest) and @ewkaw lost our kitty Suzy in last December, days before Christmas.
When I saw your post it kinda brought back all the feelings and memories from those last days with her.
It's hard to see them suffering, when we care more about them than about certain humans who now and then cross our paths.
Wishing Tommy and you guys all the best.
Oh no... I'm so sorry for your loss. I've lost two kittens, and honestly, their deaths hurt just as much as if they were family members.
Luckily, Tommy's condition wasn't serious, and he's already getting better. He seems much more cheerful since I started giving him his vitamins. Thank you so much ❤❤
They do become family members.
It's a joy to know that Tommy is getting back to his old self.
It looks like it was just stress.
And no need to thank us for anything. Glad we could help somehow. 😺
Oh that is so good he is ok! Lots of pets, cuddles and water and he will be just fine :)
It's already so much better! Little by little, it's regaining the same spark it had before the earthquake TYSM! 🙏
Yay! That's great to hear :)
Such a warrior fur baby! Thanks to all pure and kind hearts for the support. All fur parents can really relate when it comes to pet care.
Thanks alot @leighdalisay
