Change of Plans for Children's Day

Tomorrow is Children’s Day, and we had planned to go to an event near our house, but the thing is, they ended up changing the location to a place farther away, and it’s hard for me to get there, especially with the bad weather we’ve been having these past few days—it’s been quite rainy. It hasn’t stopped raining all day and night today, and tomorrow will probably be the same. My son is just getting over a terrible flu, and I don’t want to expose him to that again, so I offered him another option.

We went out shopping, and I told him to pick out some candy—that would be his Children’s Day gift. In the meantime, maybe later this week we can go to the movies or something like that (though I confess that the thought of going to the movies right now scares me quite a bit, but I want to make that sacrifice for him). He loved the idea; he accepted right away and started picking out all his favorite candies. Luckily, I was able to afford all those candies—it took quite a bit of sacrifice because things aren’t easy right now—but I’m glad I was able to make him happy with that.

By the way, when we left, we got caught in the rain on the way. Luckily, I had my umbrella with me, but by the time we got home, the rain had gotten much heavier. Still, we were pretty lucky—we didn’t get that wet. In the end, he picked out quite a few things that will serve as snacks for the whole week and maybe even longer. We also found a really interesting toy that you have to assemble, and he wanted to choose one from One Piece… It looks interesting—I’ve always been curious to see what those toys are like—so tomorrow we’ll put it together together.

It's been hard to get back to normal, to go out anywhere—I don't know—everything has become difficult, at least for me… But I always try to find the best way forward and not let any important day slip by, despite the depression and anguish in my soul.
