Fantasy glow
Greetings community, today I felt in the mood to paint in green, a color that I usually use very rarely since I reserve it for when I really feel like capturing something very beautiful and bright.
That is why today I have thought of a rather dark drawing, but with lighting that makes the whole portrait stand out and completely change, this time I used a more fantasy theme, without many elements, but I think it looks quite striking.
I made the sketch of a portrait I wanted to make a big eyes because I love how they look like that, I chose a color palette of dark green tones and some light ones, I began to paint her face placing all these tones creating the appropriate volume, in a new layer I blended these colors into each other to fully form the face, however some details were still missing.
Soften the skin a bit more with the difuse brush, I also shaped the hand and part of her chest, I continue in a new layer working on the eyebrows and eyelashes, for the eyebrows I used an olive green and for the eyelashes a pure black tone, I painted the hair with another green tone different from the face and then created another layer on top where I would place the lights and shadows, I felt that my drawing needed more darkness if I wanted to highlight the butterflies with a neon green, so I placed a layer on top with a layer mode of “multiply” and adding a dark green tone, I created a new layer of highlights, where I would start to highlight some points of light on the face and begin to draw the shape of the butterflies.
I started playing around with different blend modes on different layers to create quite a striking glow on the butterflies, face and hair, finally applying some color and saturation adjustments to the image to create more depth and sharpness.
