Halloween

Hola amigos. Algo muy típico de Halloween son las calabazas y ese elemento clave no podía faltar este año en uno de mis dibujos, hace un año hice uno parecido pero un poco mas elaborado, sin embargo, este año no he tenido mucho tiempo de hacer cosas tan elaboradas, realmente ha sido muy difícil conseguir tiempo de hacer lo que me gusta. Igualmente me ha gustado mucho este retrato, donde quise realizar una chica sosteniendo una calabaza añadiendo algunos detalles mágicos, quise utilizar colores desaturados, pero como saben, me encanta el brillo, asi que resalte mucho la calabaza con luz, espero que les guste.

Something very typical of Halloween are pumpkins and that key element could not be missing this year in one of my drawings, a year ago I did a similar one but a little more elaborate, however, this year I have not had much time to do such elaborate things, it has really been very difficult to get time to do what I like.
Anyway I really liked this portrait, where I wanted to make a girl holding a pumpkin adding some magical details, I wanted to use desaturated colors, but as you know, I love brightness, so I highlighted a lot the pumpkin with alot light, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Empecé mi boceto, y elegí los colores a trabajar, esta vez elegí tonos desaturados de una gama de lila y algunos marrones, después añadí una nueva capa con mas tonos para terminar de darle forma a toda la piel, agregue otra capa donde comencé a mezclar los colores dejando una textura de piel suave pero a la vez algo rustica, pinté el cabello con un color rojo de base y luego pinte la ropa con negro, en las mangas y en el torso baje la opacidad del color negro para crear un efecto de tela transparente.

I started my sketch, and chose the colors to work with, this time I chose desaturated tones of a range of lilac and some browns, then I added a new layer with more tones to finish shaping all the skin, I added another layer where I began to mix the colors leaving a soft skin texture but at the same time somewhat rustic, I painted the hair with a red base color and then painted the clothes with black, on the sleeves and torso I lowered the opacity of the black color to create a transparent fabric effect.

Añadí luces y sombras al cabello para darle textura, luego coloque un naranja desaturado en la calabaza, cambie el fondo a un tono marrón oscuro y después empecé a dibujar los detalles del rostro de la calabaza, cambie la posición de la calabaza, haciéndola un poco mas arriba de la posición original de mi boceto, siento que asi quedaba mejor, luego añadí iluminaciones dentro de los orificios de la calabaza y también en el rostro y ojos, añadí algo de textura al fondo y finalmente edite el dibujo, bajando un poco la exposición y ajustando el contraste y saturacion.

I added highlights and shadows to the hair to give it texture, then I put a desaturated orange on the pumpkin, I changed the background to a dark brown tone and then I started to draw the details of the pumpkin's face, I changed the position of the pumpkin, making it a little bit higher than the original position of my sketch, I feel it looked better this way, then I added highlights inside the pumpkin's holes and also in the face and eyes, I added some texture to the background and finally I edited the drawing, lowering a little the exposure and adjusting the contrast and saturation.
