I finally managed to paint the room!

Hace un tiempo que mi hijo por fin decidido dormir solo y desde ese entonces hemos querido renovar su habitación, no ha sido facil pero poco a poco hemos hecho cambios para que se sienta muy cómodo en su espacio, algo muy importante que tenia en mente era pintar las paredes ya que ese cuarto tenia las peores paredes de la casa, super sucias y rayadas, esas rayas por cierto se las hizo mi hijo cuando tenia 2 o 3 años, como este cuarto estaba prácticamente abandonado nunca lo pintamos.

A while back, my son finally decided to sleep on his own, and ever since then we’ve wanted to redecorate his room. It hasn’t been easy, but little by little we’ve made changes so he feels really comfortable in his space. One very important thing I had in mind was painting the walls, since that room had the worst walls in the house—super dirty and scratched. By the way, my son made those scratches when he was 2 or 3 years old. Since this room was practically abandoned, we never painted it.

Es curioso como cambian las cosas ya que esta habitación antes de mi hijo era una habitación para colgar la ropa cuando se lavaba, luego la convertimos en mi cuarto de maquillaje, allí me hacia mis maquillajes y guardaba todos mis accesorios, luego se convirtió en la habitación de mi esposo por un tiempo y finalmente llego a ser de mi hijo, este cambio nos agarro de sorpresa, sinceramente nunca pensé que mi hijo pidiera su cuarto aun pero me alegra que tenga su propio espacio y me hace feliz poder decorarlo para él.

It’s funny how things change—before my son came along, this room was where we hung our laundry after washing it. Then we turned it into my makeup room, where I would do my makeup and keep all my accessories. Then it became my husband’s room for a while, and finally it became my son’s. This change took us by surprise; honestly, I never thought my son would ask for his own room yet, but I’m glad he has his own space, and it makes me happy to be able to decorate it for him.

Hoy compre la pintura y realmente pensé que estaban más costosas, pero sorpresivamente me pareció económica, $17 pintura clase A, de buena calidad, es bastante densa, espesa y cubre muchísimo, quede impactada. Desde las 11 am comencé a ordenar todo para pintar, como les he mencionado antes me encanta hacerlo y hacerlo sola para mi es lo máximo no me gusta que nadie me moleste. Peeero, obviamente tuve que hacer una pequeña excepción para dejar a mi hijo pintar un rato y hacerle creer que hacia algo productivo con la pintura que estaba tirando al suelo ajajaja,

Today I bought the paint, and I really thought it would be more expensive, but surprisingly, I found it to be a bargain—$17 for top-quality paint. It’s quite dense, thick, and covers a lot; I was really impressed. Starting at 11 a.m., I began getting everything ready to paint. As I’ve mentioned before, I love doing this, and doing it on my own is the best—I don’t like anyone bothering me. Buuut, obviously I had to make a little exception to let my son paint for a while and make him think he was doing something productive with the paint he was throwing on the floor, hahaha.

Mi hijo quería un color azul mas intenso, quizás un azul rey pero no había, el chico nos mostro las opciones de azul que tenia y sinceramente esta fue la mejor, porque las otras eran tonos mas turquesas, a pesar de ser azul no me gusto el tono pero a mi hijo si (es lo importante) pero después de empezar a pintar la habitación el color me empezó a gustar bastante, se ve super lindo, sobre todo de dia,.

My son wanted a deeper shade of blue—maybe royal blue—but they didn’t have it. The guy showed us the blue options he had, and honestly, this was the best one, because the others were more turquoise. Even though it was blue, I didn’t like the shade, but my son did (which is what matters). But after we started painting the room, I started to really like the color; it looks super cute, especially during the day.

Estoy extremadamente agotada, recién termine y ya es de noche, básicamente todo el día pinte una habitación, obviamente hice pausas para cocinar y otras cosas pero no me llevo tanto tiempo, ahora mismo siento que me desmayaré sobre el teclado,.

I'm completely exhausted. I just finished, and it's already nighttime. I basically spent the whole day painting a room. Obviously, I took breaks to cook and do other things, but that didn't take that long. Right now, I feel like I'm going to pass out over the keyboard.

Pero la habitación de mi hijo se ve muy linda y con eso soy feliz.

But my son's room looks really nice, and that makes me happy.

Es emocionante cuando ellos están en su cuarto, y deciden por sí solo los cambios para estar en confianza. Para mí fue un reto dejar a mi hijo dormir solo, pero al fin se pudo y hoy en día estamos felices por eso.
