Ocean healer loves Zingu 💙

Good evening friends and Holozing community! Today I want to share with you a new Fanart in which I've been working for a few days, I loved it when I saw the post introducing Zingu, he seems to me one of the cutest I've seen so far and I wanted to recreate him in a nice drawing with one of the Healers I like the most: Ocean healer, I feel that both of them combined very well and that they carry a quite similar color palette that would help me to create harmony in this drawing, besides I love cold tones, for this drawing I wanted to represent ocean healer with a darker hair a quite pure blue keeping her dark tuft in the fringe, but I changed the clothes using one of my favorite colors which is purple, I painted a jacket with many purple folds and a simple dark blue shirt, to draw the Ocean Healer symbol it took me a little while because I wanted it to look realistic the folds of the fabric in conjunction with the logo printed on the fabric, I think I had never tried to do this and I think it looks good, according to the fold that has just in that area, although it is a silly detail I liked it a lot.

To recreate zingu I was looking at different pictures of penguins and of course at the same time seeing the reference of the original Zingu, I wanted to make it as tender as possible to both and I think I succeeded haha, a work with many details but I loved with all my soul, I hope you like it.

Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes un nuevo Fanart en el cual estuve trabajando por unos días, me encanto mucho cuando vi el post presentando a Zingu me parece uno de los mas tiernos que he visto hasta ahora y quería recrearlo en un lindo dibujo acompañado de una de las Healers que mas me gusta: Ocean healer, siento que ambos combinaban muy bien y que llevan una paleta de color bastante similar que me ayudaría a crear armonía en este dibujo, además de que amo los tonos fríos, para este dibujo quise representar a ocean healer con un cabello mas oscuro un azul bastante puro manteniendo su mechón oscuro en el flequillo, pero cambie la ropa usando uno de mis colores favoritos que es el morado pinte una chaqueta con muchos pliegues morados y una camisa simple azul oscuro, para dibujar el símbolo de Ocean Healer tarde un poco pues quería que se viese realista los pliegues de la tela en conjunto con el logo plasmado en la tela, creo que nunca había intentado hacer esto y me parece que se ve bien, acorde con el pliegue que tiene justo en esa zona, aunque es un detalle tonto me gustó mucho.

Para recrear a zingu estuve viendo diferentes fotos de pingüinos y por supuesto al mismo tiempo viendo la referencia del Zingu original, quise hacerlo lo mas tierno posible a ambos y creo que lo logre jaja, un trabajo con muchos detalles pero que ame con toda el alma, espero que les guste.

Process/Proceso

This time I thought of a portrait type drawing, but in the end I decided to make part of the torso so I would have better space to work, I drew Ocean healer and zingu hanging from her shoulder, I changed Ocean healer's hair making a hairstyle that was practically improvised, I started to paint with the idea of making a light effect simulating sunlight bouncing on Ocean healer's skin, this later changed a little. I continued my drawing adding more tones to give shape to all the skin, then in a new layer I started to mix all the colors to give softness to all the skin, then I started to paint the clothes, try several colors for the jacket and finally I opted for a dark purple, for the shirt a desaturated blue.

Esta vez pensé en un dibujo que fuese tipo retrato, pero al final decidí hacer parte del torso asi tendría mejor espacio para trabajar, dibuje a Ocean healer y a zingu colgando de su hombro, cambie el cabello de Ocean healer realizando un peinado que prácticamente fue improvisado, empecé a pintar con la idea de hacer un efecto de luz simulando luz solar que rebota en la piel de Ocean healer, esto más adelante cambio un poco.
Continue mi dibujo añadiendo más tonos para darle forma a toda la piel, luego en una nueva capa empecé a mezclar todos los colores para darle suavidad a toda la piel, después empecé a pintar la ropa, probe varios colores para la chaqueta y finalmente opte por un morado oscuro, para la camisa un azul desaturado.

Then I placed the base tones on the hair and Zingu, I started to detail the clothes creating folds with lights and shadows, then the hair adding some highlights and more shadows, I wanted to add the black hair in the fringe and keep that part faithful to the original drawing, with a light blue I drew the circle of the Ocean Healer logo on the jacket and tried to do it with movement to follow the rhythm of the folds of the fabric, then I added the logo with white also drawing it with movement, it cost me a lot but I did it. Now I had to paint Zingu, it wasn't an easy job either because when I painted his belly it looked very flat at the beginning, I had to play a little with the lights and shadows to give him more realism and create that volume effect, then I painted the rest of the body and part of Zingu's face.

Luego coloque los tonos base en el cabello y en Zingu, empecé a detallar la ropa creando pliegues con luces y sombras, después el cabello añadiendo algunas iluminaciones y más sombras, quise añadir el mechón de cabello negro en el flequillo y asi mantener esa parte fiel al dibujo original, con un azul claro dibuje el circulo del logo de Ocean Healer sobre la chaqueta e intente hacerlo con movimiento para que siguiera el ritmo de los pliegues de la tela, después añadí el logo con blanco igualmente dibujándolo con movimiento, me costó mucho pero lo logre.
Ahora tenía que ocuparme de pintar a Zingu tampoco fue un trabajo fácil ya que al pintar su pancita se veía muy plano al principio, tuve que jugar un poco con las luces y sombras para darle más volumen y crear ese efecto realista, luego pinte el resto del cuerpo y parte del rostro de Zingu.

I finished adding the last details to Zingu by painting his beak and the gem on his forehead, I also changed the background to a blue color and here was where my initial idea which was to draw them in a kind of room, changed to draw them in a colorful background, something tender and cheerful, then I added this bokeh effect in the background with a brush that has several circles of very nice colors varying in size and opacity for a better result. Of course, I had to add light to this drawing, I placed a light blue aura in the silhouette of both and then I added lights in some areas that I wanted to highlight, like the eyes of both, Zingu's gem and Ocean healer's lips and nose, after placing all the details I edited the drawing giving it a little cooler tone and increasing the saturation slightly.

Termine de agregar los últimos detalles a Zingu pintando su pico y la gema en la frente, también cambie el fondo a un color azul y aquí fue donde mi idea inicial que era dibujarlos en una especie de habitación, cambio por dibujarlos en un fondo colorido, algo tierno y alegre, entonces añadí este efecto bokeh en el fondo con un pincel que tiene varios círculos de colores muy bonitos variando de tamaño y opacidad para un mejor resultado.

Por supuesto, debía agregar luz a este dibujo, coloque un aura azul claro en la silueta de ambos y después añadí luces en algunas zonas que quería resaltar, como los ojos de ambos, la gema de Zingu y labios y nariz de Ocean healer, después de colocar todos los detalles edite el dibujo dándole una tonalidad un poco mas fría y aumentando la saturación levemente.

That penguin is adorable! Amazing artwork. Looking at the two pics before-and-after the dots on her eyes - it's amazing how much more visual interest they add! 😍
