Redoing one of my old drawings

Buenas noches amigos. Hace unos días revisaba mi carpeta de dibujos viejos, de vez en cuando me gusta ver lo que hacia y reírme un poco, ya que en ese tiempo yo me creía una artista de alto nivel y hoy me doy cuenta que incluso ahora no lo soy, mis primeros dibujos digitales fueron hechos en mi celular únicamente trabajando con mis dedos, era muy difícil pero poco a poco fui aprendiendo, aunque ahora los veo y noto todos los defectos y anomalías de mis dibujos, parece que dibujara aliens en vez de humanos, después de un tiempo logre comprarme mi primera Tablet, nunca podre olvidar lo feliz que estaba pero esa felicidad duro poco, ya que no sabía lo difícil que seria adaptarme a la Tablet, fueron dos semanas de llanto y frustración, hasta que por fin pude controlarla y mi cerebro entendió como funcionaba todo, a partir de ahí empecé a dibujar un poco mejor pero por supuesto aun no tenia suficiente experiencia y ahora veo esos dibujos y pienso que tenia buenas ideas pero al ejecutarlas no quedaba tan bien como imaginaba por errores de anatomía o al pintar, por eso he tomado la decisión de seleccionar algunos de estos dibujos y volverlos a hacer pero ya con todos los conocimientos que tengo hasta ahora, mejorando la anatomía y la pintura, quizás haciéndolos mas realistas o con efectos de oleo como me gusta pintar a veces.

Hoy elegí este, el cual se titulaba “Nostalgia” uno de los dibujos que mas me gusto en el momento que lo hice hace aproximadamente 4 años, lo hice con mi Tablet, para este periodo ya manejaba un poco mejor la Tablet y no quedo tan feo como otros que tengo jajaja.

Sin embargo, al detallar el dibujo puedo notar muchos errores y la forma de pintar era demasiado brusca, el cabello parece artificial y muy rígido, los bordes de la piel también se ven como una galleta mordida, los ojos no tienen el suficiente realismo que me gusta manejar hoy en día y un fondo bastante brusco y descuidado, hay muchas cosas aquí que pensé que podría hacer mucho mejor, asi que hoy me decidí a tomarme todo el día para trabajar en ello, me gusto mucho como quedo, siento que se ve bastante mejoría en todos los aspectos negativos que mencioné anteriormente, intente hacer un trabajo algo mas sutil, un poco mas colorido pero manteniendo la esencia del dibujo original, próximamente intentare con otros dibujos, quiero hacer esto al menos una vez a la semana, de verdad me ayuda mucho a subir mis ánimos y poder comparar mi progreso en estos años.

A few days ago I was reviewing my folder of old drawings, from time to time I like to see what I was doing and laugh a little, because at that time I thought I was a high level artist and today I realize that even now I am not, my first digital drawings were made on my cell phone only working with my fingers, it was very difficult but little by little I was learning, although now I see them and I notice all the defects and anomalies of my drawings, it seems that I was drawing aliens instead of humans, after a while I managed to buy my first Tablet, I will never forget how happy I was but that happiness lasted a short time, because I did not know how difficult it would be to adapt to the Tablet, it was two weeks of crying and frustration, until finally I could control it and my brain understood how everything worked, from there I started to draw a little better but of course I still didn't have enough experience and now I see those drawings and I think that I had good ideas but when I executed them they were not as good as I imagined because of anatomy or painting mistakes, that's why I have taken the decision to select some of these drawings and make them again but with all the knowledge I have so far, improving the anatomy and the painting, maybe making them more realistic or with oil effects as I like to paint sometimes.

Today I chose this one, which was titled "Nostalgia" one of the drawings that I liked the most at the time I did it about 4 years ago, I did it with my Tablet, for this period and handled a little better the Tablet and it was not as ugly as others that I have hahaha.

However, when detailing the drawing I can notice many mistakes and the way of painting was too rough, the hair looks artificial and very stiff, the edges of the skin also look like a bitten cookie, the eyes don't have enough realism that I like to handle nowadays and a quite rough and sloppy background, there are many things here that I thought I could do much better, so today I decided to take all day to work on it, I really liked how it turned out, I feel that it shows a lot of improvement in all the negative aspects I mentioned before, I tried to make a more subtle work, a little more colorful but keeping the essence of the original drawing, I will try with other drawings soon, I want to do this at least once at week, it really helps me a lot to raise my spirits and to compare my progress in these years.
