Sherwood Dungeon | a new vision of this game
Today I was bored and I thought of a game that I had not visited for YEARS, this game was part of my adolescence and to this day I have not met a close person who has ever played this, in the year 2009 or so, I was just exploring some MMORPG games, one day it occurred to me to enter a website that was for children games, where I used to play any stupid game and I came across a very interesting title, it was called "Sherwood Dungeon" and after reading a little about this game I decided to try it , Sherwood dungeon is a game that at that time seemed incredible to me but today it gives me a bit of a cringe hahaha, so today I went to compare my current experience with that of a few years ago.
This game brought me many joys and sorrows, I met people from different parts of the world, I made friends on the internet, I even became part of a clan, but I will develop this little by little.
Let's start by talking a little about the dynamics of this game.
Sherwood Dungeon is a game by Maid Marian entertainment, it's a PVP game that basically doesn't have much story like other game, it's really about leveling up, facing dungeons, quests, monsters, and collecting treasures and better armor.
The story of this game is based more than anything on the stories that the players themselves create, since in this world you could create clans and have your "base" where the whole clan could meet, each clan had a story, enemies and goals to overcome to be the "best", recruiting, fighting and leveling up.
In my case I belonged to a clan called "LS" at that time I was 13 years old lol, I only played because I liked to collect coins and weapons until one day a person approached me and asked me if I wanted to be part of his "clan" "I said yes but I really didn't understand anything, he took me to a server where the base was and I introduced myself with all the people who from that day on would be my battle companions.
They were real people, I felt like I finally fit in somewhere and that place was a video game with people I didn't know in real life LOL.
We had many enemy clans that tried to take over our base, I trained and learned to fight, I became an important part of the clan, I was totally crazy about this game hahaha, we were attacked and we attacked many times, little by little my rank within the clan rise up until I became Captain.
El modo de batalla sigue siendo el mismo, no hay novedad, los gráficos siguen siendo una porquería y hay algunas misiones que están bugeadas.
Today I went in and I didn't find many new things, really I'm still practically the same game, the only difference is some new servers that they added, some decorative elements different from those of a few years ago and that there are almost no players online, years ago when I played This used to have people on whatever server i was on, but now only on the main server you can get a couple of people, the rest you're just with NPCs.
The few people I found were those typical toxic players who always believe they are the best, I didn't really talk to anyone, but I could perceive that, it gave me a bit of nostalgia to remember all the battles I fought in this game and all the people I met there and with whom I lost contact a long time ago.
The battle mode remains the same, there is nothing new, the graphics are still crap and there are some missions that are bugged.
From what I could see, there are not many clans now, there are only 3 or 2 and there are no more wars like there used to be before, now you get people challenging each other to a friendly battle and there is nothing else to show for that aspect.
I visited some of the worlds that this game offers, looking for something more interesting and I ran into the same thing over and over again, they added new worlds that are completely new to me, I decided to level up because the monsters killed me all the time and i lost my old account, so I had to create a new account and complete some missions to be able to level up and be stronger, I got very interesting weapons, but now that I see this game today, I feel that it doesn't make much sense, maybe it's because I already I have played other more exciting things, but I feel that this game is more for socializing than for something really important, I say this because of the ease with which you can get weapons, potions, gems, etc., there is no real obstacle to overcome to be able to advancing in the game, I think that this is extremely important to catch a player, maintain that passion of wanting to play and achieve a goal, the adrenaline of losing and losing everything you have achieved, this games doesn’t offer any of that, you literally kill animals, skeletons and other characters to get boxes with items that you can easily exchange for weapons, shields and gems, the missions are extremely easy and if you die during one, it doesn't matter, you continue as if you hadn't died .
There are runes with which you can get more powerful and aesthetically striking weapons, but it is not something very difficult to achieve, you can even buy the runes with diamonds that you get by killing spiders.
The only thing that could be said to be an achievement to get is arming your character with a pet, it can be a tiger or a horse. How is it achieved? Well buying it! LOL
Why I would buy a pet in a game that is practically dead and that is not won with merits either?
I also entered one of my favorite servers, in this there is a kind of chessboard, where there were two teams, the blue team and the red team, whoever kills more players of the opposite color would be the winning team, this place used to be full of people, today I came in and there was only me, the battle time was running and I had no one to face, this game definitely is dead.
Despite all the negative things that I can see in this game today, I want to remember it for what it was, it was a way of feeling like someone at that time where I didn't have any real friends, it was an escape to the real world and all the things that at that time they bothered me, where I create my own world with my own "family" that although I no longer have contact with them, I keep many of them in my heart with great affection, they gave me very fun afternoons and full of emotion, battles that although they were not real, they were very important.
