Feliz sábado amigos, hoy quiero compartir un retrato en blanco y negro que termine recientemente, esta vez quise usar solamente escala de grises ya que es una técnica bastante interesante, permite entender mejor las facciones del rostro y por eso elegi un retrato, me gusto mucho como quedo, hice ojos grandes, un rostro fino y una mirada penetrante, espero que les guste.

Happy Saturday friends, today I want to share a black and white portrait that I finished recently, this time I wanted to use only grayscale as it is a very interesting technique, it allows to understand better the facial features and that's why I chose a portrait, I really liked how it turned out, I made big eyes, a fine face and a penetrating look, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Quería un retrato pero que pudiese lucir muy llamativo a pesar de ser en blanco y negro, por eso realice unos grandes ojos, nariz pequeña y rostro fino, comencé a pintar utilizando diferente escala de grises, aplicando luces y sombras, esta vez quería una mirada profunda asi que oscurecí mucho el borde de los ojos, pero mantuve el color de ojos de un color gris claro, casi blanco, en una nueva capa añadí mas tonos creando el rostro por completo, mezcle los tonos del rostro para terminar por completo la piel, para ello utilice un pincel de oleo que me permitiera suavizar los tonos pero al mismo tiempo dejar algo de textura, para el cabello usé un gris oscuro.

I wanted a portrait but that could look very striking despite being in black and white, so I made big eyes, small nose and thin face, I began to paint using different grayscale, applying lights and shadows, this time I wanted a deep look so I darkened a lot the edge of the eyes, but I kept the eye color of a light gray, almost white, in a new layer I added more tones creating the face completely, I mixed the tones of the face to finish completely the skin, for this I used an oil brush that allowed me to soften the tones but at the same time leave some texture, for the hair I used a dark gray.

La piel aun tenia demasiada textura, asi que pase un pincel difuso con opacidad baja para poder suavizar un poco más, pinte algunas líneas negras en el ojo derecho, y en el centro de los labios, luego comencé a pintar detalles en el cabello que dieran mas realismo, añadiendo grises oscuros y claros, incluso blanco puro y negro puro, coloque detalles de luz en el rostro para darle mas vida, luego me ocupe del fondo haciendo un fondo sencillo con tonos oscuros y claros, finalmente intensifiqué el fondo, esta vez no hice algún ajuste a la imagen o edición porque estaba conforme con este resultado.

The skin still had too much texture, so I used a diffuse brush with low opacity to soften it a little more, I painted some black lines in the right eye, and in the center of the lips, then I started to paint details in the hair to give more realism, adding dark and light grays, even pure white and pure black, I put light details in the face to give it more life, then I took care of the background making a simple background with dark and light tones, finally I intensified the background, this time I didn't make any adjustments to the image or editing because I was happy with this result.
