Hola, buenas noches para todos. Estoy bastante feliz de poder presentarles este dibujo para mi entrada al concurso de @Splinterlands de esta semana, muy feliz por que hice algo diferente y que sentía que no me iba a salir bien pero al final lo ame muchísimo, les he comentado en varias ocasiones que no se me da muy bien eso de dibujar criaturas, animales y cosas por el estilo, realmente es un miedo que tengo como artista, además de que prefiero mil veces retratos que otra cosa, además aunque parezca extraño, cuando intento dibujar cosas tiernas en mi Tablet, no me salen tan bien como me sale a lápiz y papel, pero no pude resistirme a intentarlo esta vez porque esta carta me pareció extremadamente hermosa y adorable, esta vez les muestro mi versión de Meriput Magician una de las nuevas cartas que se ha robado mi corazón por ser tan hermosa jaja, me inspiro muchísimo y me costo demasiado poder lograrlo ya que es un estilo totalmente diferente a pesar de que al momento de pintar intente mantener mi esencia y mis trazos de siempre, quizás no me quedo tan realista como hubiese deseado pero siento que atine en el rostro adorable y unos ojos grandes llenos de luz, espero que les guste.

I am quite happy to present this drawing for my entry to the @Splinterlands art contest this week, very happy because I did something different and that I felt that I was not going to do well but in the end I loved it very much, I have told you on several occasions that I am not very good at drawing creatures, animals and things like that, it really is a fear that I have as an artist, besides I prefer portraits a thousand times than anything else, also although it seems strange, when I try to draw tender things on my Tablet, they don't come out as well as I do with pencil and paper, but I couldn't resist to try it this time because I found this card extremely beautiful and adorable, this time I show you my version of Meriput Magician one of the new cards that has stolen my heart for being so beautiful haha, it inspired me a lot and it cost me too much to achieve it because it is a totally different style even though at the time of painting I tried to keep my essence and my usual strokes, maybe I didn't get as realistic as I would have liked but I feel that I hit the adorable face and big eyes full of light, I hope you like it.

Proceso/Process

Empecé el boceto hace unos días, pero esta vez fue mas difícil, pues tenia que hacer algo completamente diferente a lo que suelo hacer siempre, empecé a trazar las forma del rostro dibujando un circulo con un color rojo, que me permitiría mas adelante hacer una mejor forma pero repasada en negro, para tener un boceto mas limpio, dibuje todo el rostro creando algunos círculos y guiándome por la foto de referencia y también algunas fotos de ratoncitos en Google jajaja, para ver como seria mas o menos la forma de la cara, nariz, boca y manos, luego añadí una nueva capa y empecé a repasar dando mejor forma al boceto, creando líneas un poco más limpias para empezar a pintar, como la carta tiene algunos tonos verdes, dedicó utilizar colores verdes para el pelaje, para el interior de las orejas un rosa y algunos blancos en los bordes de la silueta, aplique los colores dejando luces y sombras y luego cree otra capa donde añadí aun mas colores para terminar de formar un poco mejor la figura y el pelaje, también empecé a pintar la ropa, usando los colores que tiene la carta pero un poco mas desaturados.

I started the sketch a few days ago, but this time it was more difficult, because I had to do something completely different to what I always do, I started to trace the shape of the face drawing a circle with a red color, that would allow me later to make a better shape but reviewed in black, to have a cleaner sketch, I drew the whole face creating some circles and guiding me by the reference photo and also some pictures of little mice in Google hahaha, to see how it would be more or less the shape of the face, nose, mouth and hands, then I added a new layer and started to go over giving better shape to the sketch, creating a little cleaner lines to start painting, as the card has some green tones, I dedicated to use green colors for the fur, for the inside of the ears a pink and some white on the edges of the silhouette, I applied the colors leaving lights and shadows and then I created another layer where I added even more colors to finish forming a little better the figure and fur, I also started to paint the clothes, using the colors that the card has but a little more desaturated.

Después de colocar los colores base en la ropa, me encarga de detallar por completo el rostro, esto fue muy difícil, porque no quería usar un pincel con textura de pelo o algo asi ya que se vería muy poco natural, entonces decidí pintar el pelaje con un pincel duro y creando yo misma los pelitos con brochazos de diferentes color, tamaño y opacidad, me encantó pintar los ojos y las manitas, se veían demasiado tiernas, luego le coloque cejas y pestañas y se veía aún más preciosa, ahora empecé a pintar cada prenda, comenzando por la capa, creando pliegues con luces y sombras, de igual manera el vestido, quise cambiar un poco el vestuario poniendo un vestido completo, porque siendo sincera no me salía bien el traje de la carta original, sin embargo, siento que se ve bonito de esta forma de igual manera jaja, después de pintar toda la ropa, empecé a pintar los accesorios, decidí ponerle dos aretes, porque se vería mas ruda asi a pesar de tener una carita dulce.

After placing the base colors on the clothes, I was in charge of detailing completely the face, this was very difficult, because I didn't want to use a brush with hair texture or something like that because it would look very unnatural, so I decided to paint the fur with a hard brush and creating myself the little hairs with brush strokes of different color, size and opacity, I loved painting the eyes and the little hands, they looked too tender, then I placed eyebrows and eyelashes and she looked even more beautiful, now I started to paint each garment, starting with the cape, creating folds with lights and shadows, likewise the dress, I wanted to change a little the costume putting a full dress, because to be honest I was not good at making costume of the original card, however, I feel it looks nice this way anyway haha, after painting all the clothes, I started to paint the accessories, I decided to put two earrings, because she would look tougher this way despite having a sweet face.

Para el fondo decidí hacer algo en verde en combinación con amarillo y azul celeste, creando esta especie de siluetas de luna atrás y algo de humo, después pinte el bastón guiándome con la imagen original, después me di cuenta que el dibujo se veía muy luminoso en contraste con el fondo, asi que añadí una nueva capa de “multiplicar” y oscurecí un poco la silueta, luego cree otra capa pero esta vez de luces, iluminando un poco mas los ojos, la nariz, el bastón, y el fondo, finalice mi dibujo editando toda la imagen jugando un poco con la herramienta de curvas y Cámara Raw, hasta tener un resultado que me gustara aún más.

For the background I decided to do something in green in combination with yellow and sky blue, creating this kind of moon silhouettes in the back and some smoke, then I painted the scepter, following the original image, then I realized that the drawing looked very bright in contrast with the background, so I added a new "multiply" layer and darkened a little the silhouette, then I created another layer but this time of lights, illuminating a little more the eyes, the nose, the scepter, and the background, I finished my drawing editing the whole image playing a little with the curves tool and Camera Raw, until I had a result that I liked even more.

The artwork has such a lovely depth from your use of light and shadow. It is really amazing.
