The finishing touches?

Bueno, hoy mi plan era dibujar, llevo bastante tiempo sin hacerlo y hoy quería hacerlo, pero como siempre este país cortando sueños y esperanzas, las crisis eléctricas se han agravado y la luz esta teniendo fallas cada vez más seguido y es por eso que no pude sentarme a pintar tranquilamente ya que se nos fue la luz unas tres veces hoy, asi que tanto tiempo de ocio me dejo pensando en que más podía hacer para la habitación de mi hijo, se me ocurrió la idea de tomar una mesa que usaba como almacén de cachivaches, vaciarla por completo y utilizarla para la habitación de mi hijo.

Well, my plan today was to draw. I haven’t done it in quite a while, and I really wanted to today, but as always, this country keeps crushing dreams and hopes. The power outages have gotten worse, and the electricity keeps cutting out more and more often, which is why I couldn’t sit down and paint in peace—the power went out about three times today. So, with all that free time, I started thinking about what else I could do for my son’s room. I came up with the idea of taking a table I used to store odds and ends, clearing it out completely, and using it for my son’s room.

Como podrán ver esta mesa estaba bastante sucia y fea, realmente no estaba cumpliendo ninguna función mas que conservar cosas que debo depurar (que por cierto lo deje para hacerlo mañana ya que no me dio tiempo). Sinceramente siempre he odiado un poco esta mesa, me la regalo mi mama y por eso la usaba pero limpiarla es bastante tedioso, aun asi la mesa tomaba vida en diciembre ya que ha sido la mesa de mi arbolito de navidad, asi que este año me toca buscar ideas para que mi arbolito se vea mas alto sin la mesa ajajjaa.

As you can see, this table was pretty dirty and ugly; it really wasn’t serving any purpose other than holding onto things I need to get rid of (which, by the way, I’ll leave for tomorrow since I didn’t have time today). Honestly, I’ve always hated this table a little. My mom gave it to me, so I used it, but cleaning it is pretty tedious. Even so, the table came alive in December since it’s been the table for my little Christmas tree, so this year I have to come up with ideas to make my little tree look taller without the table, hahaha.

Y me di cuenta que mi hijo necesitaba una mesa en su habitación, donde pudiera colocar lo que el quisiera ya que tenia todos sus juguetes desordenados encima de la mesa del tv que al mismo tiempo es su mesa de guardar la ropa, asi que esta mesita iba a ser de mucha ayuda, la limpie y pulí con cera de madera y con ayuda de mi hijo comenzamos a decorar con sus juguetes de anime favoritos y debajo colocaría sus zapatos.

And I realized that my son needed a table in his room where he could put whatever he wanted, since all his toys were scattered across the TV stand—which also serves as his clothes rack—so this little table was going to be a big help. I cleaned it and polished it with wood wax, and with my son’s help, we started decorating it with his favorite anime toys, and we’d put his shoes underneath.

Me gusto mucho como se ve y mi hijo quedo muy feliz, tengo un poco de miedo de que mi gato se monte ahí y tumbe todos los juguetes porque el siempre que ve algo nuevo quiere acostarse encima de las cosas jajaja, espero que no lo haga. Han pasado varias horas desde que lo hice y por ahora todo va bien, ruego porque siga asi. Me hace muchísima ilusión arreglar el cuarto de mi hijo, para mi es algo bastante genial ya que yo nunca pude tener una habitación propia y siempre la quise, asi que me hace feliz cumplir ese sueño a través de mi hijo, respetando sus gustos. Quiero comprar mas cosas por ejemplo una lampara, pero será poco a poco, ya que esta bastante difícil comprar alguna cosa actualmente.

I really like how it looks, and my son is so happy. I’m a little worried that my cat might climb up there and knock all the toys over—he always wants to lie on top of things whenever he sees something new, ha ha ha—so I hope he doesn’t do that. It’s been a few hours since I set it up, and so far everything’s going well; I’m hoping it stays that way. I’m so excited to decorate my son’s room. For me, it’s pretty amazing because I never had a room of my own and always wanted one, so it makes me happy to fulfill that dream through my son, while respecting his tastes. I want to buy more things—like a lamp, for example—but I’ll do it little by little, since it’s pretty hard to buy anything right now.
