Tommy says goodbye to his favorite sofa

Aunque suene un poco tonto, me dio bastante sentimiento tener que deshacerme de un sofá que formo parte de nuestra vida por 3 años, pero la situación ya era insostenible, el mueble estaba en pésimas condiciones y Tommy ayudo bastante a llegar a ese punto. A pesar de intentar mil formas para que dejara de destruir el mueble ninguna funcionaba, ni siquiera el rascadero casero que le hice.

Although it might sound silly, it was quite sad to have to part with a sofa that had been a part of our lives for three years, but the situation had become unbearable. The piece of furniture was in terrible condition, and Tommy had certainly contributed to getting to that point. Despite trying a thousand ways to stop him from destroying it, nothing worked, not even the homemade scratching post I made for him.

Este sofá tenia mas tiempo con nosotros que Tommy y aunque no fue mucho, se fue con bastantes recuerdos en familia. Ya no tenia arreglo ya que incluso Tommy lo rompió por un costado y el mueble empezó a romperse de la parte del espaldar, intentamos mantenerlo a pesar de ese detalle, solíamos pegarlo a la pared pero ya ni eso funcionaba, era incomodo sentarse allí, creo que el único que lo disfruto hasta el último minuto fue Tommy

This sofa had been with us longer than Tommy, and although it wasn't for a long time, it left with quite a few family memories. It was beyond repair, since Tommy had even torn it on one side and the back started to crumble. We tried to keep it despite that; we used to push it up against the wall, but even that didn't work anymore. It was uncomfortable to sit on. I think the only one who enjoyed it until the very end was Tommy.

Hoy le dijimos adiós y Tommy ha pasado el día un poco extrañado, normalmente ese mueble estaba muy cerca de la computadora que es el lugar donde mas tiempo pasamos y el solía acostarse en el sofá para acompañarnos, le encanta estar siempre cerca de nosotros y hoy ha sido complicado para el ya que no tiene lugar cercano para acostarse a nuestro lado jaja, me da mucha pena por el pero ya estaba cansada de ese mueble.

Today we said goodbye to it and Tommy has spent the day a little confused. Normally that piece of furniture was very close to the computer, which is where we spend most of our time, and he used to lie down on the sofa to keep us company. He loves being near us, and today has been difficult for him since he doesn't have a place nearby to lie down next to us, haha. I feel really bad for him, but I was already tired of that piece of furniture.

Aun me queda un sofá, que he intentado cuidar pero igualmente no puedo estar las 24horas del día encima de mi gato para quien no lo rasguñe, son cosas que no se pueden evitar en todo momento, aunque cuando lo hace en mi presencia lo regaño e inmediatamente para de hacerlo.

I still have one sofa left, which I've tried to take care of, but I can't be on top of my cat 24 hours a day to stop him from scratching it. These are things that can't be avoided at all times, although when he does it in my presence I scold him and he immediately stops.

No se que hacer para cuidar el ultimo mueble que me queda jaja, realmente no quiero que sufra el mismo destino, si tienen algún consejo seria genial, aunque a estas alturas he probado de todo y nada ha funcionado, mi gato es demasiado inteligente para caer en esas trampas bobas para engañar a los gatos jajaja

I don't know what to do to save the last piece of furniture I have left, haha. I really don't want it to suffer the same fate. Any advice would be great, although at this point I've tried everything and nothing has worked. My cat is too smart to fall for those silly traps designed to fool cats, haha.
