Hace muchísimo tiempo que no me inspiraba en nada para hacer un fanArt, pero hay cosas que definitivamente lo ameritan, en esta oportunidad me inspire en una de mis series favoritas “Strangers Things” pero para este dibujo realmente no use ninguno de sus personajes, esta vez quise crear mi propio personaje mezclando algunas escenas y paisajes icónicos de esta ultima temporada que estuvo sencillamente HERMOSA, la iluminación, los colores, los efectos especiales, todo fue super fantástico y tenia muchas ganas de hacer una especie de tributo a todo esto que me gusto, para empezar, quería hacer mi propio personaje, me guie con varias referencias, las escenas donde las personas son poseídas por Vecna y sus ojos se tornan blancos son mis favoritas, así que debía hacerlo, para su vestuario me inspire en diferentes chaquetas que vi en internet de los años 80, habían muchas cosas con estampados y coloridos pero habían unos diseños que destacaban más, estos diseños con cuadros en chaquetas, eran hermosos y claro no podía faltar la combinación de colores extravagantes, creo que esto fue una de las cosas que mas feliz me hizo, de verdad me siento muy orgullosa de esta chaqueta, quedo hermosa, debo confesar que pintar ropa siempre ha sido una de mis debilidades, pero hice este trabajo con tanto amor y paciencia que todo salió muy bien, les contare el resto de mi experiencia durante el proceso de esta ilustración.

It's been a long time since I was inspired by anything to make a fanArt, but there are things that definitely deserve it, this time I was inspired by one of my favorite series "Strangers Things" but for this drawing I didn't really use any of its characters, this time I wanted to create my own character mixing some iconic scenes and landscapes from this last season that was simply BEAUTIFUL, the lighting, the colors, the special effects, everything was super fantastic and I really wanted to do a kind of tribute, to begin with, I wanted to make my own character, I was guided by several references, the scenes where people are possessed by Vecna and their eyes turn white are my favorites, so I had to do it, for her wardrobe I was inspired by different jackets that I saw on the internet from the 80s, there were many things with prints and colors but there were some designs that stood out more, these designs with checks on jackets, it were beautiful and of course the combination of extravagant colors could not be missing, I think this was one of the things that made me happiest, I really feel very proud of this jacket, it looks beautiful, I must confess that painting clothes has always been one of my weaknesses, but I did this work with so much love and patience that everything went very well, I will tell you the rest of my experience during the process of this illustration.

Proceso/Process

Comencé por el boceto, necesitaba ver algunas referencias de rostros mirando hacia arriba para así darle un poco mas de realismo a esta escena, dibuje su ropa, que realmente al principio no sabia de que color iría, además que el diseño era un poco diferente cuando todo comenzó, los audífonos los dibuje también viendo referencias de como eran en esta época, en base a ello lo coloque sobre mi personaje siguiendo su perspectiva, comencé a pintar su rostro usando colores bastante pálidos pero a la vez vibrantes, mas adelante esto cambiaria al entender un poco mejor la iluminación de mi escenario, por varias horas le di forma a su rostro, sus ojos como ya mencione serian blancos, pero use tonos azules y gris también para que se viese un poco mas realista, en su ropa elegí unos colores llamativos, usando azul oscuro, amarillo, verde y rojo, recuerdo que este tipo de chaquetas las he visto mucho en películas viejas, siempre me ha gustado y ¿Que mejor oportunidad para dibujarla que esta?😁

I started with the sketch, I needed to see some references of faces looking up to give this scene a little more realism, I drew her clothes, which at first I really didn't know what color it would be, besides the design was a little different when It all started, I also drew the headphones seeing references of how it were in that time, based on that I placed it on my character following her perspective, I began to paint her face using quite pale colors but at the same time vibrant, later this would change because i understand a little better the lighting of my stage, for several hours I shaped her face, her eyes as I mentioned would be white, but I also used blue and gray tones to make it look a little more realistic, in her clothes I chose some striking colors, using dark blue, yellow, green and red, I remember that I have seen this type of jacket a lot in old movies, I have always liked it and what better opportunity to draw it than this? 😁

Agregue algunos trazos de sombras y luces en la ropa para darle mas realismo, cree una capa de recorte para pintar con rojo en la esquina de su ropa, ya que estaría reflejando la luz del fondo que seria roja, para su cabello use un color marrón oscuro, agregue algunas luces y sombras e igualmente luz roja en el borde, para los audífonos elegí blanco y amarillo, quería que se notaran así que tuve que elegir colores bastante claros para que resaltaran, poco después ya los audífonos tenían bastante forma y volumen, jugué con diferentes tonos de amarillo y gris para crear esta forma que ahora tienen.

Add some shadow and highlight strokes on the clothes to give it more realism, create a clipping mask to paint with red in the corner of her clothes, since it would be reflecting the background light that would be red, for her hair use a brown color dark, add some lights and shadows and also red light on the edge, for the headphones I chose white and yellow, I wanted it to be noticed so I had to choose quite light colors to make it stand out, shortly after the headphones had enough shape and volume, I played with different shades of yellow and gray to create this shape that now have.

Después de pintar más detalles a su rostro, como luces, sombras, pecas y sangre saliendo por su nariz, era momento de ocuparme del fondo, elegí una base de un tono rojo intenso y en una nueva capa comencé a pintar las nubes usando diferentes tonos de este mismo color, en otra capa aplique azul, dando así mas intensidad en la parte oscura del fondo y haciendo este contraste de colores que tanto vemos en la serie, con el efecto de superponer dibuje algunos pequeños murciélagos en el cielo.

After painting more details to her face, such as lights, shadows, freckles and blood coming out of her nose, it was time to take care of the background, I chose a base of an intense red tone and in a new layer I began to paint the clouds using different tones of this same color, in another layer I applied blue, thus giving more intensity to the dark part of the background and making this contrast of colors that we see so much in the series, with overlay effect I drew some small bats in the sky.

Obviamente para este punto ya había notado que mi personaje tenía una iluminación que realmente no quedaba bien con el fondo, así que añadí una nueva capa de multiplicar usando un tono azul pinte todo mi personaje, baje un poco la opacidad de la capa ya que había quedado bastante intenso el color, ahora pasamos a finalizar, aplicando algunos ajustes de color a todo el dibujo y aplicando mas luces.

Obviously by this point I had already noticed that my character had lighting that didn't really match the background, so I added a new multiply layer using a blue hue and painted my entire character, lowered the opacity of the layer a bit since this color look really intensive, now to finish, I apply some color adjustments to the entire drawing and apply more lights.

Este fue todo mi trabajo, me costó muchísimo pero les juro que me sentía muy feliz haciéndolo, me encanta dibujar y mas cuando amo la idea o el concepto que hay detrás, en este caso como les comente me inspire en varias escenas, la paleta de colores también es bastante parecida a ese “Upside Down” toda la vibra de los 80’ que intente captar en mi dibujo creo que funciono, espero que les haya gustado tanto como a mi.

This was all my work, it cost me a lot but I swear I felt very happy doing it, I love drawing and even more so when I love the idea or the concept behind it, in this case, as I told you, I was inspired by several scenes, the palette of colors is also quite similar to that “Upside Down” all the vibe of the 80's that I tried to capture in my drawing I think it worked, I hope you liked it as much as I did.
