Wedding ceremony
A wedding ceremony at a registry office in Russia is an exciting and meaningful event. It is a time for the two people to exchange vows and declare their love for each other in the presence of family, friends, and witnesses.
The ceremony typically begins with the signing of the marriage register by the couple and their witnesses. This is followed by a reading of the marriage certificate and a brief explanation of the symbols and traditions associated with the ceremony. The couple exchange rings and make a mutual promise to each other. The official performing the ceremony then pronounces the couple “husband and wife.”
At this point, the couple may exchange traditional Russian wedding gifts - ring. After a few words of advice from the officiant, the couple seal the marriage with a kiss. The ceremony concludes with the signing of the registry and a certificate of marriage.
The registry office ceremony is usually followed by a reception, and it is customary for the couple to toast each other and their families. The celebration culminates in a banquet, often with traditional Russian dishes.
The Russian wedding ceremony is an important part of the culture and is a joyous celebration of union and family. It is filled with beautiful symbols and traditions that add to the romantic atmosphere of the day and provide a lifelong reminder of the bond between the couple.
I am glad that I am invited to photograph weddings and I capture the moments of this important day!
