Battle Mage Secrets Weekly Challenge with Fog of War
Fog of War
Description:
All units lose the Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity abilities.
Scattershot still works in this ruleset.
A good tank and a balanced line up of Magic and Ranged monsters is the trick to win in this ruleset. Use monsters with Opportunity. Keep your monsters in an ascending order of their HP.
The Battle Ruleset
Going the Distances: All Monsters have the Scattershot ability.
Healed Out: All healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners. .
This is a high mana ruleset game and four color is available to play, which is the Water, Fire, Death and Life Splinters. This means that I could use whatever I want with few restrictions.
The first is the Fog of War of course, so none of the monsters will be able to attack our backlines, so it is important to bring a strong tank.
The second is the Going the Distance, which makes choosing my lineup more interesting, because only ranged attack monsters are available to play.
The third and last is the Healed Out ruleset, so nono of the monsters will be able to heal or to get heal.
My Team Composition
Yodin Zaku is a seven mana Summoner who is a one of the strongest and one of my favorite summoner within the Splinterlands. His cost is a bit too much, but his abilities are unmatched to any other summoners. He gives one ranged attack and health to all of his friendly monsters, but more importantly he gives the Blast ability as well, which will makes them to damage the adjacent monsters of their target.
The War Chang is a very good tank especially in this game, because even though he has melee attack he also counts a ranged attack monster thanks to his both attack type. He also has the Retaliate ability, but it is pretty useless against ranged attack monsters, because it works only against melee attack creatures.
The Lava Launcher will be my second and my off tank, because he has the Close Range ability, so he will be able to attack from the first and any other position. He has a lot of ranged attack for nine mana, but the mana cap was more than generous to be able to use him.
Cornealus is a pretty good damage dealer and meat shield if it happens to use him i nthe first position, because he has a lot of health. He cost 10 mana, so it is not easy to use him in battles, but this time the mana cap was quite nice.
The Ash Miarge cost seven mana and he is the best monster in this game, because he has the Headwinds ability, which will reduce the ranged enemy attack by one as long as he lives. He also has some nice ranged attack damage, but his speed means a lot.
The Fire Caller is a Martyr card, which means that if he dies he will give one increased stat to all of his friendly monsters. He also has excellent ranged attack damage and his only weakness is his low health.
The Tinderlock is a very special monster, because he also be able to attack from the first position, but more importantly he has the Last Stand ability, which means that if he will be the last friendly monster alive he will get 50% buff on all of his stats until the end of the battle.
The Battle

My strategy was to deal as much as damage possible using Yodin Zaku his Blast damage and the Fire* monsters.
My opponent used a very good counter against my Yodin who is Ilthain from the Life Splinter, because he has the Return Fire ability, which means that all of my ranged attack monster will receive a reflected damage back to themselves if they damage their target.
The enemy monster were quicker than my monsters, so they attacked first and they killed my War Chaang easily. The Blast damage on my monsters helped a lot to kill two of their monsters in return, but my monsters took a lot of reflected damage as well.
In the second round my team also killed another two monsters from the enemy team and I lost my Martyr as well who had increased the stats of her nearby friendly monsters.
The increased stats helped a lot to finish the battle and to kill his last monster on the battlefield. 😀
Do you like Fog of War? Why or why not?
I like this ruleset, because it helps a lot to protect my backline against the enemy Sneak, Snipe and Opportunity monsters, so it is much easier to build a decent lineup.
