SHARE YOUR BATTLE Weekly Challenge! LIFE SAPPER

Life sappers are in between life and death. One side of their body is ghostly while the other is alive and well. They are neither fully living nor dead. They feed off the energies around them, and simply being within view of a Life Sapper will make you feel sick and weak. They siphon energy from their victims, slowly weakening and sickening them while simultaneously healing themselves.

“Paladins, clerics, and healers of the world don't bother trying to save a Life Sapper as it may be the last thing you'll do. Hold dear to your worldly bodies and pray to whichever gods you know that you do not become lost in the in-between.”

-- Malaus Dawnforge, University of Illumination Priest

The Stats of Life Sapper

Life Sapper is a half dead creature with magic attack and a life leech ability within the Death Splinter. The life leech abilty means that the Life Sapper could steal life from the enemy monster every round if he hit them. His mana cost is 3, which is very low and we can use him in low mana battles as well. He has low health and speed with only two, but he can increase his health with the use of the life leech ability.

He is a very good monster and is a very good combination with the summoner of Thaddius Brood, especially in low mana battles, because Thaddius will reduce the magic attack and health to all enemy monsters by one, which is very helpful for Thaddius creatures. The Life Sapper is very useful with all the Death Splinter, but I choose Thaddius for this battle, because his ability will de-buff the enemy monsters baddly.

My Team Composition

image.pngThaddius Brood is a very good choice amongst the Death summoners, because he will reduce the magic attack and health to all of the enemy monsters. He is a perfect summoner against any magic attack team. His mana cost is four, which is not the cheapest, but his ability well worth it for the extra cost.
image.pngThe Cursed Windeku is the perfect tank, because he has the thorn ability and big health. The thorn ability means, if the enemy monsters will hit him, the thorn will reflect back 2 damage to the attacker. On level 5 he will receive the heal ability to heal himself, which means he is not an easy target to kill.
image.pngThe Carrion Shade is a great creature with only 1 mana cost. If the Ruleset has a low mana cost he will be an excelllent choice to any team. He can take one or more attack from the enemy monsters, depending from the ruleset.
image.pngSilent SHA-VI is an excellent creature in the low mana ruleset as well, because he has sneak ability and he can attack and kill the last creature in the enemy backline. His mana cost is 5, which is not expensive. He is an important monster to any Death Splinter team composition.
image.pngLife Sapper is a good monster in this team, because he has magic attack with life leech ability. He will steal 1 health from opponent monsters when he hit them. His mana cost only 3, so it is easy to use him.
image.pngVenari Bonesmith is a magic attack monster with 4 mana cost, 3 health and life leech ability like the Life Sapper. He will steal health from enemy monsters in every round on attack, he is a similar creature like Life Sapper, but he will get poison on Level 4.
image.pngThe Crypt Beetle is a very good creature with 1 armor and the shield ability. He has 3 mana cost, which is nice in a low mana cost ruleset. If I used the Cursed Windeku as a tank, I can put him the last position in my team to protect my backline from the enemy sneaker units. His shield ability reducing the melee and ranged attack from the enemy creatures by halving it.

The Battle

This is the link to my battle: https://splinterlands.com/?p=battle&id=sl_d248b0f86e17dfb7ce46418772874ae0

The rules was Standard in this battle, that is mean no modifications in the battlefield. My opponent choose Thaddius Brood like me, because this summoner will reduce the enemy magic attack and health by one.

My opponent brought the Cursed Windeku in his frontline and Carrion Shade in the second position like me. My opponent plan was to kill my backline with his Sneaker and Sniper monsters. His plan worked in the beginning, because his Earth Elemental Snipe ability killed my Life Sapper in the first round. 😣

I have chosen Thaddius Brood as well with Cursed Windeku and Carrion Shade for this battle, because the Cursed Windeku has a thorn ability. That is a very strong monster especially with his melee reflect. I picked the Carrion Shade for the second position, because this creature cost only 1 mana and he could take one attack from an enemy monster. The two Cursed Windeku killed each other using their thorn ability.

I brought the Silent SHA-VI, Crypt Beetle and two monster with life leech, because I thought the Life Sapper and Venari Bonesmith will kill quickly the enemy tank using their abilities. Unfortunately my opponent killed my Life Sapper in the first round, after my Silent SHA-VI killed his Earth Elemental.

The Venari Bonesmith survived the battle and he used his excellent life leech ability to sustain more damage increasing his own life to eight until the battle ended.

I put my Crypt Beetle in the last position of my backline to protect my backline from the enemy sneaker monsters. He succesfully saved my Venari Bonesmith, because the Crypt Beetle has a shield ability, whcih reduced the melee and ranged attack damages by half. If a monster has only 1 melee or ranged attack they are not possible to deal damage to a shielded monster

I won this battle, because my Silent SHA-VI and Venari Bonesmith stayed alive against my opponent Riftwing, who has no attack skill and I could defeat him easily.

Do you like the Life Sapper? Why or why not?

Yes, I like him, because this creature has a low mana cost and life leech ability with magic attack. The Life Sapper is similar like Venari Bonesmith, who is a great monster within the Death Splinters. In the low mana cost (under 30 mana) the Life Sapper is an excellent choice. 😁
