Over time, the Riftwatchers have developed and refined a suit powered by pistons, gears, and dragon magic. A marvel of runic engineering, it allows its wearer to take flight and soar through the sky on mechanical, dragon-like wings. Using reinforced tubes, the user can release precision beams of fire from the palms of their hands. The suit’s sophisticated servos and actuators are extremely responsive to the natural movement of the body, providing extraordinary agility while in flight.

It takes years of training to become proficient in the use of these suits. Thankfully, runemancers have installed certain safeguards to reduce the mortality rate of trainees, such as crash avoidance, unconsciousness-activated auto-flight, and a projectile warning system.
A burning sensation lanced through its flank, and the Chaos Dragon roared and wheeled through the sky. It couldn’t turn fast enough to track its attacker, a gnat-like creature that darted through the sky around it. It looked like a little mechanical dragon.

A pinprick of pain and heat on its belly, and the Chaos Dragon swooped downward, but its claws found only empty air. A blast slammed into the side of its snout, and the Chaos Dragon’s eyes watered. It shook its head and roared again.

There. High above, a silhouette against the sun. The Chaos Dragon exhaled a breath of necrotic energy. The little gnat dove through the sky, narrowly avoiding the attack. It fired two fireballs at the dragon. More pain.

The Chaos Dragon snarled, pulled its wings in to its sides, and dove toward the ground. Just before impact, it extended its wings again and glided along, its shadow sweeping across the landscape as it retreated toward the horizon.

The Runic Skyclaw pumped her fist into the air. Below her, the Splinterlanders and Riftwatchers cheered.

The Stats of the Runic Skyclaw

image.png

Runic Skyclaw is a rare sniper ranged attack monster within the Dragon Splinter. She can fly and she is very fast and the other advantage is that is very difficult to hit her. She has a big stats with three armor. She cost 9 mana therefore we can use her in any high mana ruleset.

Flying : Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.

Snipe : Targets enemy Monsters with Ranged, Magic, or no attack that are not in the first position.

Reflection Shield : This Monster is immune to all indirect, or reflected damage. That means that it will not take damage from Blast, Thorns, Return Fire, or Magic Reflect.

Giant Killer : Does double damage against targets that cost 10 or more mana.

My Team

image.pngQuix the Devious is a four mana cost summoner within the Dragon Splinter. He reduces one speed and one ranged attack to all enemy creatures.
image.pngThe Diemonshark is a very good rare melee monster with Trample ability from level one. We can use him as a tank, because he has a big stats and big armor. He will get Enrage ability on level four, which means when he is damaged from the enemy monsters, his attack and speed will increase.
image.pngThe Flying Squid is a common melee attack creature with Reach ability. He can attack the opponent tank from the second position. He will receive the Blind ability on level six to makes it more difficult for the enemy melee and ranged monsters to hit our creatures.
image.pngThe Deeplurker is a common melee attack monster with high health and Opportunity from level one. He will attack the enemy creature with the lowest health. He will get the Poison ability on level six and that ability is very useful in the battle if he can trigger the poison on his enemy.
image.pngThe Merdaali Guardian is a good tank healer from level one. She will receive the Repair ability on level five and she can fix the lost armors to all friendly monsters as long as she is alive.
image.pngThe Venari Wavesmith is a rare magic attack monster with Protect ability. He gives two armor to all friendly creatures in the battle, which is an amazing protection to mitigate the incoming damages.
image.pngThe Runic Skyclaw is an excellent rare ranged attack Dragon creature with Flying and Snipe ability. She never attack the opponent monster in the first position only if it is the last one. She has a very big ranged attack and she is very fast. I could get a golden version of her to boost my income from winning battles.

The Battle

I choosed the Dragon Splinter for this high mana ruleset, but only common and rare card were available to play. I mixed the Dragons with Blue cards, because within the Blue Splinter it has a lot of good common and rare monsters.

I brought three melee attack monsters with Quix the Devious, who reduce one speed and one ranged attack to all enemy creatures. The Diemonshark was very good tank in this battle and the Merdaali Guardian supported him with her Tank Heal and Repair ability.

The Runic Skyclaw was the perfect choice on the last place in my backline. She has three armor and Flying ability to protect her and the team against the slow sneakers such as the Sand Worm.

The opponent choosed Waka with Death cards, who gives the Poison ability to all of his friendly monsters.

My strategy worked, because the Diemonshark could use his Trample ability to receive an extra attack when he made a killing blow. The Deeplurker, Flying Squid, Runic Skyclaw dealt a lot of damage to the enemy monsters.

The Runic Skyclaw survived this battle thanks to her high speed and flying ability, which gave her +25% extra evasion against any melee and ranged attacks.

Do you like the Runic Skyclaw? Why or why not?

Yes, I like her a lot, because she is a perfect Dragon creature with great stats and abilities. The only one problem with her that is the nine mana cost, therefore I can not use in battles with low mana cap.
