Developing a Mobile Game - Adjucto Devlog

Hi there! In this video, I wanted to share with you a little bit of my game development process for a new mobile game called Adjucto.

A few weeks ago, I started this project and it's all about jumping from one planet to another, discovering new challenges, collecting coins, buying new skins for your character, and just having fun.

The first thing I worked on was the core mechanic for gravity and moving platforms. I even tried to create an infinite track, but unfortunately, I encountered some bugs. Instead, I decided to make multiple planets by hand, which ended up being a great decision.

For the art, I used DALL-E and had ChatGPT help me with the coding. This allowed me to create two scenes: Explore, where you travel between planets in space, and individual scenes for each planet with moving platforms and coins.

To add more challenge to the game, I introduced meteors that spawn in the closest position to the platform and are thrown with force.

I also added a workshop where players can choose skins with the money they collect. Additionally, I added several menus like the main menu, pause menu, and revive menu.

One of my favorite additions to the game was the coin magnet. When players collect it, the coins start moving towards them, which adds an extra layer of excitement to the game.

To make landings more dynamic, I added a camera shake effect, which has proven to be a great feature.

Currently, I have 13 different worlds, but I'm not sure if I should work on adding more. Do you think it's worth it?

Finally, I had to think about advertisements since the game is free. I took inspiration from Alto's Adventure and I think it's not too intrusive for the players.

As a tribute to my friend's dog, who recently passed away, I created a planet and a skin in honor of her.

That's it for now. Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one!

Awesome it will be worth to play for sure, about advertisement, i don't mind when the game is cool, and it should not be intrusive, let the user play enough before the first Ad, i hope you have success with your videogame.

Hi @ismaelgranados. Thank you for reply! Yes, I believe ads won't bother people. I copied ads approach from Alto. Also, Adjucto is on Google Play now. Today's release. So will be grateful for feedback! Let me know if there are bugs or any weird stuff with game.
