14 years ago - Bitcoin was born

Hi,

one significant event happened 14 years ago, when on the 3rd of January 2009, the bitcoin network came into existence with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the genesis block of bitcoin known as block number 0.

This block had the following text inside:

The Times 03/Jan/2009 Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

It also minted the first 50 BTC

The text referred to an article that appeared in The Times which showed the problems with the banking systems.

BTC was, is, and will be the flagship of crypto. It pulls all the other cryptos after him. It will be for a long time, the crypto that everyone refers to as crypto.

Will it hit the million USD mark? Probably, as it is limited and the USD is affected by inflation.
Will it be the king in the next 5 years? Probably yes, as it is dominating the market.

Do you have some BTC? What do you plan with them?

I will be holding my sats for the time being. I am hoping that one day I can use it for collateral if I need a loan or something.

yeah, I hope so too. I just read an interesting post buy Khal about using collateral to take out loans. It still feels a lot like a shell game to me, but I want to have the option one day if I need it.
