#AskLeo - are you listening to podcasts?

avatar

Hi,

some friend of mine recommended me some podcasts, where I told him, that I had to pass.

One of the points in the Zealy - @leofinance adoption campaign, was that I did not more than 90% of the weekly tasks related to podcasts. For this, I missed the top50.

And the question for today is, if you are you listening to podcasts? Why?

Well, I will start, and I think my answer is obvious that I avoid podcasts. The questions would be why. I'm a visual person and prefer to read than to listen. Also, I think that there are a lot of things that can be kept shorter to spare time.

I love to spend time with my family, and sometimes podcasts feel like a time waste. Sometimes, but a few times, the wording, and the message on how the words are said are worth listening, but the advantage of this is very little for me.

As said, the above applies only for me and I would like to read your view on this.

So, are you listening to podcasts? Wh

Great post @alexvan.
podcasts isn't such a bad idea. I guess i listened to two different podcasts during the campaign. But i think reading and listening to podcasts can work well for me.

We all have what works for us.

Hello, @alexvan !

I love to ear podcasts, since I, on a daily basis, commute by foot from home to gym, and also for shopping groceries, I "take" the time that I'm walking to learn something new.

Let me drop some that I frequently listen:

  • Huberman Lab (Professor Andrew Huberman - neuroscientist from Stanford School of Medicine, talk about how our brain works, the connections with our body, perceptions... With Biology, Neurology, Behavior, etc on his lecture!)

  • LeVar Burton Reads

  • StarTalk Radio (with Neil deGrasse Tyson, astrophysicist)

  • How to be a better Human

When I start one episode of one of those publishers, I'm never pressed for listening to it in one stand... It gives me the freedom of "drinking" some wisdom freely!

IMHO better then some TV shows, and many of the social platforms - besides HIVE! LOL

Not really not unless they are like 15 minutes long and filled with good stuff. Only time I watch a longer one is splinterlands townhall really but even that I chop up into bite sized parts. I only got so much time in the day lol and most of the podcast stuff could be summed up in 5-10 minutes.

I usually also read. Sometimes I listen to podcasts too. For example Yogscast (English), TheVR Happy Hour (Hungarian), Podkedd (Hungarian). I listened/I am listening to the previously mentioned Hungarian podcasts mostly for the personality and the sense of humor of the people. I listen to English podcasts mostly to maintain and improve my English knowledge. And every podcast is also good just to pass time. For example listening to podcasts on the go (while/during travelling). Sometimes I listen to radio talk shows too.

I do listen to podcasts, but usually when I feel the need to lie in bed and rest (sometimes they are a good way to take a nap, lol) or when I have to do something repetitive that doesn't need concentration but it takes time.

I love listening to podcasts because they give me the opportunity to multtask. I could be listening while resting or doing other things that does not require full concentration. I always listen to the LEO podcasts on weekends.

Seems like I was supposed to get a 5k LP delegation as a winner in the last LPUD. Got that from the winners annoucement post
