Happy anniversary - Blade Runner

On 25th of June 1982, Blade Runner was released. Can you imagine that this amazing piece of culture is 41 years old?

The movie is based on Philip K. Dick’s science fiction novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? which appeared in 1968.

Ridley Scott was the first choice to direct it, but declined it, so Warner Bors, the studio tried it with RObert Mulligan, who was pretty in at that time.

Harrison Ford, even if he was a big shot, following Star Wars and Indiana Jones, was not the first to be chosen from. Jack Nicholson, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman, Martin Sheen and Al Pacino have been the first choice. Imagine Blade Runner with Jack Nicholson. Dustin suggested a more macho type and more masculine one.

There are 7 different versions of this movie, only the final cut is approved by Ridley Scott.

But enough talk, here is one of the best scene, which is taken from the final cut, where the monologue has been massively improvised:

I love the film, can say it is one of the best of its kind. But there is a question, is Deckard a replicant, yes or no? He passes the human test.

I've actually never seen this movie. I know I should really get around to watching it sometime, but even as a little kid I never saw it. Probably because it was rated R. I remember my dad watching it.
