The Power of the Dog | Netflix

The Power of the Dog did not arrive in Montana in 1925. Wealthy ranch owners Phil and George Burbank meet the inn's widow and owner, Rose Gordon, during a cattle drive. George and Rose soon marry, from here Phil fights a sadistic and relentless war. The film had its world premiere on September 2 at the 78th Venice International Film Festival, where it won best director.

In more than one review it has received the ratings of: hypnotic, amazing and a masterpiece. The cast stars Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Kirsten Dunst (Mary Jane in 2002's Spiderman), Jesse Plemons, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Thomasin McKenzie, and Frances Conroy. Those of us who are lovers of the genre make our mouths water. We must remember that Jane Campion, the director, is the second of seven women nominated for an Oscar for Best Director and the first filmmaker to receive the Palme d'Or; Both achievements came for The Piano (1993). December will definitely be a great month for those of us who are lovers of great film and series productions. I wish you a beautiful Friday, may the weekend be prosperous.
