My Mistake In 46 Mana Battle — Key Lessons from Ferocity & Up Close & Personal (Rulesets)

Ferocity and Up Close & Personal are two special battle modifiers that are very important to understand before playing any battle. Before entering any battle ruleset it is necessary to understand what the rules say which monsters are allowed, which abilities are preferred and what special conditions are applied.
If you understand the rules properly I believe you have already won 50% of the battle. You just need to select your monsters according to the rules and place them in the right positions to increase your chances of winning. However, if you do not understand the ruleset, then even having the strongest monster cards will not help you.
In this 46 mana battle I got two rulesets which were challenging and interesting as well.

FEROCITY
The first one was Ferocity. In this ruleset, all units whether allied or enemy units, receive the Fury ability. The Fury ability deals double damage to targets that have the Taunt ability.
Because of this, only monsters with the Taunt ability are in real danger. So it is better not to select any Taunt monsters when this ruleset is active.
For example, a unit has 5 attack damage and it attacks a monster with Taunt instead of dealing 5 damage it will deal 10 damage because of Fury. This can eliminate that monster very quickly.
Keeping this ruleset in mind it is better to select monsters with high health and completely avoid monsters with the Taunt ability.
CLOSE AND PERSONAL
The second ruleset was Up Close & Personal. In this ruleset you are only allowed to summon melee attack monsters. Magic and ranged attackers are disabled so you must rely only on melee monsters.

Because of this you should carefully choose your melee attackers and place them in the correct positions so they can attack properly and regularly. Monsters with the Reach ability become especially valuable because they can be placed in the second position and still perform melee attacks.
Keeping these rulesets in mind I selected six monsters along with a Speed Archon while the enemy also selected six monsters with a Speed Archon.
My plan was to use a front tank that had both melee and magic attack, thinking it would allow me to deal double attacks. I placed a Reach ability monster in the second position so it could continue attacking from there.
My third and fourth monsters were also selected as tanks because they had high health and armor. In the backline I placed monsters with Sneak and Opportunity abilities so they could attack the enemy's weaker units and deal as much damage as possible.
The good thing was that my deck did not contain any monster with the Taunt ability so the Ferocity ruleset did not become a problem for me.
At the start of the battle both sides dealt good damage. The first round lasted quite a while because melee battles usually have monsters with high health and strong attacks. The battle continued gradually and in the end it became a 2 vs 2 fight.

Unfortunately, my backline was not strong enough so I could not win the battle. The biggest weakness in my lineup was my backline monsters because they had low health and were eliminated quickly.
The enemy player made a smart decision by placing high health and high armor monsters in the backline allowing them to survive much longer during the battle.
Even though I lost but it was still a very exciting battle. These rulesets required careful planning and a proper strategy before entering the match. Unfortunately this time my strategy was not enough to secure the victory.
In your opinion which monsters are the best choice for these two rulesets? Do you think it is necessary to have monsters with every type of ability in your deck so you can deal with rulesets like these? Will be glad to see your answers in the comment section.
