The Quest For Boorgir! | When Special Offers Are Good
Yes guys, it’s been a long while since since I’ve been on a food journey.
This whole journey was an accident and I didn’t regret doing it.
So, the journey started with me going out on a personal endeavour early in the morning with my dad.

By “early morning” I mean the lazy man’s early morning.
Now, I didn’t know that the rain had started from an actual early morning. It’s wasn’t much when I got out of my home. But, it started to pour the moment I got inside of a bus. I did carry an umbrella.
From there, I went to Agargaon. Couldn’t finish my work and had to return. The rain had gotten worse by then. Yeah, if you were wondering… I did get drenched.
Reached home by 1:30 and by a huge stroke of luck Sultan’s Dine was open. Ordered a 1:2 because with a Jafran juice, none of which was photographed😢. My phone’s battery was at 1%.
Moreover, it wasn’t that I didn’t try to get that pic, it was more that the phone didn’t let em. The whole time the phone was glitching and took random blurred photos.
Home
From then, I returned home and started to play Overwatch 2 with the guys and completed my tasks from Varsity until 7pm.
By 7:10pm I was already bored and started to scroll my social media. And by a pure stroke of luck, I saw this amazing offer.
The offer on this restaurant was available from 23rd October to 24th October.
Offer
We order any 2 burgers and add in Tk10($0.1) to get a full Loaded Fries. I was sold at Tk10. I didn’t care if they offered a half loaded fry or full.
The Quest
The outside environment has calmed down a bit. The wind was strong, the rain was low. It was dark and the roads were flooded. A thing about where I live, it is famous for being flooded every time a lil rainfall graces us.
Now, the more concerning matter is, who in their right minds would go all the way to the restaurant at 7:30pm just for an offer? A friend you may ask?, hell no. I did ask but was turned down instantly. I did ponder if I should get there by myself, order the cheapest 2 burgers and get that loaded fry.
I then remembered that I had a half-foodie friend. Problem was, we hadn’t spoken for 3-4 weeks. Yet, I asked him and he instantly texted back. Said he would come if I were to give him a treat… sum firends I hab… I agreed with the intention of backing out XD.
The Journey
I had to go home twice after getting out. First time, I went for the umbrella. The rain just got stronger, it was 7:55pm. The second time, I went back to fetch my wallet.

Reached to the restaurant by 8:13pm and was about to call my friend when he called me from the edge of the restaurant.
We “quickly” decided on what to get. He ordered a Baconator and I got a Chicken steak inside burger.
We chatted for a long while. Till 10:40pm!
We got the pan fried chicken loaded fries because I didn’t want to get more “bbq” stuff. At the time, I didn’t know if they would give us a half or full loaded fry. We asked and boom, landed on the big one.
Yep, he’s a Marvel fan. I am a DC fan, Batman les goooo. Our talk covered a huge amount of topic. The new anime, Rick and Morty S6 episodes. The Chainsaw man, a new manga called Dog nigga XD. The arrival of Black Adam, the new Black Panther movie. The word of the Bangladeshi PM announcing that pretty soon the world would experience
poverty.
That first bite hit the spot. An explosion of cheese, delicious meat, poached egg, onions, and a layer of green chillies. A soul redemption bite.
We got 2 soft beverages too.
We didn’t notice that we had stepped into the dating times of the night. With it, the rain intensity increased by 5 folds. The streets had completely submerged.
I had to walk a long way to avoid getting my feet drenched from the water. About “the water”, it was now mixed in rain, drain, and mud giving it a deeper murky consistency. How do I know the texture? My feet got soaked😢.
On the way back, my friend gave me an amazing advice of crossing the road using speed bumps. The only thing that should stick out in this horrible time of the day.
Walked in front of Grameenphone office. Now, to locate the speed bump. I waited for some cars to pass by. A rickshaw passes by but still not sure where the bump was. I tucked up my pant in case it’s fate became grim. That was when my back got wet when I had blended over.
I did want to take a pic but didn’t want my phone to get wet. Now that I look back at it, should’ve taken that pic.
A car passed and I found myself in front of it from the beginning. I put my toes into the raging flood and found no road. I understood that I had put my feet over a sewage system. So, I leapt forward. That’s when the water had entered my shoes, up to my ankle. I was wearing socks… some of you may know how uncomfortable that is.
I “safely” made it out and reached home by 11:20pm. Started couching and sneezing the next morning. But, it was all worth it.
It’s appropriate to say that such plans are best. The instant decision and the wills to act made it more enjoyable.
The subject of being blessed with such a luxury of being able to get what I want, with the people that want to do it, and the time we can get to it is also a notable capability.
