Last Time

I attended a Royal Party hosted by the Queen. Her influence extended all over Orlais.
While discussing about attending the gala, the Inquisition party members, at the War room table. The looming threat over the Queen was imminent, her majesty’s brother Gaspard could be be that threat as he had retaliated against her. This time he could do what he intended. Or, it could be someone else, someone who was close to the Queen, who could drive the knife when nobody would suspect him/her.

At the Gala, the approval of the Court was important. Being a Qunari, the approval came at a short supply.

I met lady Josephine’s sister. Cullen was proposed for marriage twice.other members were spread throughout the place.
I went round and round, discovering side missions and completing them before heading inside.

At the first level, people were gossiping about other nobles and the Queen and anybody they had on their minds. I was tasked to listen to these gossips, take in something that would give me an edge over Gaspard, blackmail the guy.

I found a hidden path to an underground storage unit. To unearth the place I had to light up 6 flames across 6 stone pillars.

I found mercs in the vicinity, the chevaliers of Gaspard. They killed off an emissary to get their way into the place. Gaspard’s knife was found in the body. When eliminating the chevaliers, I met the ambassador of the land. She was called Lady Briala.

I found a library on the second floor, contained many trash items that I didn’t take.

After receiving this much evidences around the place I decided to call a quick team meeting. I was pressed with the decision of wether to save the Queen before the strike is driven through or catch the culprit beforehand.

This Time

I went to the guarded room that I found near the room full of guests. There are so many rooms that I can say which was which😅. They asked if the stories about me, the Inquisitor, was true or not? I verified it. Then asked them to talk it over with Cullen. They were hesitant at first, I told them that a few minutes of absence wouldn’t harm anyone. The room was a trophy room, found evidences to blackmail Gaspard and other items.

I went back to Vestibule, the area was a prime target for overhearing the gossips.

I wandered the palace further, looking for areas that I haven’t yet explored and found a rift.
Near it was the guard and the Duchess Florian! She was the one working for Corypheus!
When asked about her motif of the act, as she herself was an Orleasian empress, she said that she wanted more than just an empire. She was gonna double cross Gaspard.
When Corypheus would enter the Black City and claim his Godhood, he would overthrow the current Maker and be a more tentative God. She would then rule the whole of Thedas under the name of Corypheus. Celine, the Queen, would then be a stepping stone for Corypheus to usher the world into a new one.

She flew from the place leaving my party and me to fight against the guards and the monsters that was coming out of the rift. If only I had the dispel magic here🥲.

Took me a few tries to kill all the enemies. I further ventured and found more enemies in every room forward.

I couldn’t finish the guards and died once so I searched for other rooms until I found the way back, I found myself staring at Florian and Gaspard, they were standing at the other end of the hall.

I met Cullen, he informed that the Queen was gonna make her speech. I had a choice, either to let Florian do her thing; it would cost the whole of Orlais should the death of the Queen die or save the Queen and accuse the evil duchess.
I really wanted the Queen to die XD. Only to see the aftermath but once again, I didn’t save and so I had to save the Queen.

We went to a private place and provided our evidences on Florian trying to assassinate the Queen. The Queen was swift in her judgement and so she was to be seized.
Gaspard was left by the duchess as she made her escape from the place. She couldn’t run away though, the Inquisitor chased her down to the garden where the final showdown began.

I took me MANY tries to finally get the lady.

I went back to the party, past the Vestibule and into the hall. Gaspard and Briala were bickering about the developments. Who should’ve know what, that sort of talk. The Queen silenced them.

I had two options: Tell about Gaspard’s intension of found a coup or tell the Queen that Briala had helped to stop Florian. Both were not looking good for Gaspard, I went for the first option.
More points: Gaspard let mercenaries into the palace, he arranged his men for a coup, he bullied the council of Herald into giving him the crown.

So, Gaspard we to be executed, that part was confirmed. Now, wether I would throw Briala into the chains or just let Gaspard be executed was the question. I didn’t know what the consequences of this action would’ve been but I went and made Briala an accomplice to it.

The Queen took them responsible party away and told that her life was indebted to the Inquisitor. They returned to the hall and the Queen made a speech.
She announces that the civil wars were over, the enemy within had been found. Gaspard, her cousin, was found guilty and he was to never own a land at Orlais.
In these dark times the Inquisition was the one to step forward and deal with these dangers, and so now, it would be an honour for the whole of Orlais to stand with the Herald of Andraste in these time of crisis.
I was asked to make a speech. I said that the war was only the first step, peace for all of Thedas was the main goal. The Queen agreed and told everyone to feast for this was a indeed a great victory for them all.

I went out to the balcony and found a mage. She was ordered by the Queen to be a liaison for the Inquisition. She was a mage and the Queen wanted to help the Inquisition any way possible.

I met Josephine outside and her for a dance. We danced, finally getting close to her! I do remember asking her if she would see me as a love interest, a swift me😶.
