Dicen que el trabajo siempre se pierde en el peor momento posible, que las malas noticias llegan en el peor momento. De un día para otro una carrera profesional puede terminar, de un día para otro lo que parecía una recta ascendente puede quebrarse, esfumarse. El mundo laboral dio un vuelco y la experiencia de repente parecía no tener cabida. Llega entonces la incertidumbre, no solo económica si no de identidad ¿Quiénes somos sin un título y sin un puesto de trabajo?

Lo primero que se aprende cuando se toca fondo de esta forma es agarrarte a la esperanza de que todo volverá a ser como antes, es un camino que solo conduce a la frustración. El mundo que conocías ya no existe. La liberación, amarga, pero es necesaria, llega cuando lo aceptas. Cuando dejas de preguntarte: ¿por qué a mí? y empiezas a hacerte la única pregunta que importa: ¿Y ahora qué hago con lo que queda?

Al principio, lo que queda parece muy poco: tiempo, una mente que funciona y, si te miras con honestidad solo queda algo: reconstruir el concepto de éxito, más que el mismo éxito desde el suelo y a veces desde cero.

A veces todo se viene abajo, pierdes tu trabajo y con él tu rutina, tu sueldo, tus compañeros, y la sensación de no tener un lugar en el mundo de estar a la deriva aparece, implacable. Es normal sentirse así: perdido, vacío y sin rumbo.

Salir de esa incertidumbre no es fácil y no hay soluciones mágicas. El primer paso: Decidir parar, respirar y comenzar a construirnos.

Hoy me quiero llenar de valor y desde la experiencia para compartir mi guía personal de lo que se debe hacer. Pero no es una guía solo para quienes han perdido su trabajo. En vistas generales es una guía para quien se siente fracasado y sin éxito. Para quien siente vacío en las mañanas, para quien no sabe cómo seguir con sus días. Pero vuelvo a aclarar, si defines tu éxito por el de los demás esta guía no es para ti. Cada persona construye su propio éxito a su propia forma.

Deja de nadar contra corriente, es el primer paso, tenemos que aceptar que el camino anterior terminó, gastar energía en negar el cambio, o lamentarnos de lo que pudo haber sido, pensar en eso solo nos cansa. Dejar ir no es rendirse, es dejar de pelear contra un enemigo que no podemos vencer y aún si lo vencemos no importará en nuestra historia. Deja de vivir en el pasado y comienza a construir el presente.

Mira lo que sí tienes, mira de lo que eres capaz. En medio de tus frustraciones haz una simple lista, no de lo que perdiste, si no de lo que te queda.

• ¿Qué sabes hacer?
• ¿Qué te gusta hacer?
• ¿Qué habilidades tienes?

Habla con personas y con contactos que te puedan ayudar, comienza a hacer alguna actividad solo por el placer de hacerla, jardinería, escribir, tomar fotos, evita a toda costa la inacción.

Muy importante es hacer contactos y mostrar de lo que eres capaz, toca puertas sin miedo a que te las cierren, no hay nada que perder y sí hay mucho que ganar.

El pensamiento y la acción solo genera más pensamiento y más acción por eso es importante evitar inercias y rutinas en la vida. Actúa aunque sea mínimo. La acción por pequeña que sea genera cambios.

Con lo vertiginoso del mundo hoy se puede aprender a hacer prácticamente cualquier cosa desde el internet. Es una oportunidad enorme en nuestras manos y muchas veces la desaprovechamos.

Hoy puedes hacer un tutorial de tejido, hoy puedes escribir un mensaje, escribir un poema, plantar un rosal, arreglar algo roto en la casa, hacer un dibujo o tomar una buena foto. O simplemente hoy puedes escribir una lista de ideas. Un solo paso por muy pequeño que sea hoy, y otro mañana, así se construye el camino del éxito, la constancia en lo pequeño construye el nuevo camino.

Si hoy te encuentras sin saber qué es el éxito, simplemente defínelo tú mismo, escríbelo a tu forma, con tus habilidades y desde donde te encuentras hoy. Si te topas con alguien que niega tu camino no lo escuches y sigue avanzando, si te sientes en la tentación de compararte, hazlo contigo mismo, hace cinco años atrás.

El éxito que se reconstruye y nace desde las ruinas del anterior no es el mismo, es mucho más tranquilo, mucho más fuerte, ya que esta vez el éxito no irá sobre puestos y títulos, sino sobre la certeza interna, el conocimiento propio de que en ti aunque no lo veas está lo necesario para volver a levantarte paso a paso, día a día entre rutinas.

Un día a la vez y encontrarás el éxito.

A career can end overnight, what seemed like a straight upward trajectory can shatter and vanish. The working world has been turned upside down, and experience suddenly seems to have no place. Then comes the uncertainty, not only financial but also an uncertainty of identity. Who are we without a degree and a job?

The first thing you learn when you hit rock bottom like this is to cling to the hope that everything will go back to the way it was before, a path that only leads to frustration. The world you knew no longer exists. Liberation, bittersweet but necessary, comes when you accept it. When you stop asking yourself, "Why me?" and start asking yourself the only question that matters: "What do I do with what's left?"

At first, what remains seems very little: time, a functioning mind, and, if you look at yourself honestly, only one thing remains: rebuilding the concept of success, rather than success itself, starting from scratch.

Sometimes everything falls apart, you lose your job and with it your routine, your salary, your colleagues, and the feeling of not having a place in the world, of being adrift, appears, relentless. It's normal to feel this way: lost, empty, and without direction.

Getting out of that uncertainty isn't easy, and there are no magic solutions. The first step: Decide to stop, breathe, and start rebuilding yourself.

Today, I want to gather my courage and draw on my experience to share my personal guide on what to do. But it's not just a guide for those who have lost their jobs. In general, it's a guide for anyone who feels like a failure and unsuccessful. For those who feel empty in the mornings, for those who don't know how to get through their days. But let me clarify again: if you define your success by that of others, this guide isn't for you. Each person builds their own success in their own way.

Stop swimming against the current, that's the first step. We have to accept that the old path has ended. Wasting energy denying change or lamenting what could have been only exhausts us. Letting go isn't giving up, it's ceasing to fight an enemy we can't defeat, and even if we did, it wouldn't matter in our story. Stop living in the past and start building the present.

Look at what you do have, look at what you are capable of. In the midst of your frustrations, make a simple list, not of what you've lost, but of what you still have.

• What can you do?

• What do you enjoy doing?

• What skills do you have?

Talk to people and contacts who can help you. Start doing something just for the pleasure of it: gardening, writing, taking photos. Avoid inaction at all costs.

It's very important to network and show what you're capable of. Knock on doors without fear of them being closed. There's nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Thought and action only generate more thought and more action, which is why it's important to avoid inertia and routines in life. Take action, even if it's just a small step. Action, however small, generates change.

With the fast pace of today's world, you can learn to do practically anything online. It's a huge opportunity in our hands, and we often let it slip by.

Today you can create a knitting tutorial, write a message, write a poem, plant a rosebush, fix something broken around the house, draw a picture, or take a great photo. Or you can simply write a list of ideas. One step, however small, today, and another tomorrow, that's how the path to success is built. Consistency in small things builds a new path.

If you find yourself unsure of what success is today, simply define it yourself. Write it in your own way, using your skills and from where you are today. If you encounter someone who doubts your path, don't listen and keep moving forward. If you're tempted to compare yourself, compare yourself to who you were five years ago.

The success that is rebuilt and born from the ruins of the past is not the same, it is much calmer, much stronger, because this time success will not be about positions and titles, but about inner certainty, the self-knowledge that within you, even if you don't see it, lies what is needed to rise again step by step, day by day, amidst routines.
