Along the cherry path

The cherry blossom can as well be admired in Aargau as for example here on the cherry path in Fricktal. Along five kilometers long round path in the eleven panels give information about the cherry growing. currently you can enjoy the blossoming until soon the fine cherry. Alongside the trees is enough space also for the most valuable habitat for plants and animals.

During the cherry picking season, freshly cherries may be bought directly from the producer at the wayside,I am already joyful about it.

The flowery meadows around attract insects that are important for the pollination. About 1000 species of animals and plants make here their home, including a great number of insects and several species of breeding birds.

In all there are more than 400 varieties of cherries. They vary in size, color, consistency and taste. The most common are the dark cherry varieties followed by red, yellow-red and very rarely pure yellow cherries.

This region of Gipf-Oberfrick valley has been settled early, signs of settlements are even from the Bronze Age and the Roman times.
