Hiking and exploring the natural formation gorge
For today have a hike from last week through the stunning Twannbach Gorge from Magglingen down to Twann, is a well nice hiking destination near Biel, Switzerland. The crossing through the gorge was made accessible since 1892, you will rewarded with a beautiful view of the village of Twann, Lake Biel, St. Peter's Island and in the background the snow covered Alps.
Yes, don't forget that at these walks you will have to pay a very minimal entry tax of 2 Fr. children 1 Swiss Franc, for all the entertaining. You can round the mountain trip with the funicular Biel - Magglingen as a nice experience, it takes only 7 minutes to pass the 438 m altitude difference.
The gorge is oppen from april to november, do not forget to bring good shoes, depending the weather is quite slippery.
The paths are well marked and on the way you can enjoy the beautiful surrounding nature, you can also meet small waterfalls or ponds where you can cool down in hot summer days, the whole route is bike restricted.
Through the gorge flows the Twann stream, flowing into the Bielersee, on the left and on the right side high rock walls.
Thanks for stopping by, have a beautiful Day!
