Inside Aachen Cathedral
For today in Aachen a few shots in the cathedral from this summer trip, one of the oldest and most important churches Europe, an Unesco World Heritage Site. The cathedral combines several architectural styles
The octagonal shape with a high dome above it
Inside you feel a mix of imperial power and bysantine beauty, with more than 1200 years of history, amazing!
The atmosphere is very warm and glowing with a lot of gold and unique geometry. The Shrine of the Virgin Mary is another major golden reliquary in the choir, a masterpiece of medieval goldschmith work.
