Roses city

The medieval town of Rapperswil-Jona in Switzerland charms from the very first moment with its idyllic alleys and its fantastic location on the banks of Lake Zurich, also known as the city of roses where over 15'000 rose flowers of 600 varieties bloom from June to October, it is well worth a visit to this time. Unfortunately now I am too late, the roses are a beautiful past, but sure I come back next year.

Das mittelalterliche Städtchen Rapperswil-Jona in der Schweiz bezaubert vom ersten Moment an mit seinen idyllischen Gassen und seiner fantastischen Lage am Ufer des Zürichsees, auch bekannt als die Stadt der Rosen, in der von Juni bis Oktober über 15'000 Rosen von 600 Sorten blühen, in dieser Zeit einen Besuch wert. Leider bin ich jetzt zu spät, die Rosen sind eine schöne Vergangenheit, aber sicher komme ich nächstes Jahr wieder.

Rapperswil Castle is the landmark of the city, even from a distance you can see the castle, which was built at the end of the 12th century and later repeatedly reconstructed.

Das Schloss Rapperswil ist das Markenzeichen der Stadt, schon von weitem sieht man das Schloss, das Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts erbaut und später immer wieder umgebaut wurde.

Since the 19th century, a trafficable dam makes it possible to cross Lake Zurich at the closest point between Rapperswil and Hurden.

Even the wooden footbridge still exists, 841 meter long, two and a half meter wide, modernly designed wooden bridge is the longest wooden bridge in Switzerland with a wonderful view to the Alps.

Der Holzsteg existiert noch, 841 Meter lang, zweieinhalb Meter breit, die modern gestaltete Holzbrücke ist die längste Holzbrücke der Schweiz mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht auf die Alpen.
