The Rhine Falls, a fantastic natural attraction

When you are here you should not miss the trip and the climb to the middle rock. The cliff ride is absolute the highlight of the Rhine Falls, the largest waterfall in Europe, where the water falls from a depth of around 23 meters. In the midst of this natural spectacle, you have the unique opportunity to climb the middle rock and admire the whole area from a unique perspective. I will try next time:)

It is possible to take the boat up to the impressive middle rock. During your 20-minute stay there, you can climb the more than 100 steps to the about 30 metre high viewing platform. The climb is worthwhile for those who are fit and not afraid. Once at the top, you will be rewarded with a unique 360-degree view of the Rhine Falls.

A short introduction to the Rhine River, which is the tenth longest river in Europe with a length of around 1,230 km, has its spring in Switzerland, leaves it in Basel and then flows through the countries of Germany, France and the Netherlands, where it ends up in the North Sea in Rotterdam. In the background you can see Schloss Laufen, which for more than 1100 years has been proudly overlooking the Rhine Falls near Schaffhausen.
The canton of Zurich is planning to rebuild this nice tourist destination and renovate the Schloss Laufen until 2026. In future, it is hoped that the potential of the gastronomy, event sector and hotel will be utilized and made this place even more attractive.

Definitely an impressive view to climb on top of that middle rock. The journey towards it seems a bit hard, with the strong river currents. But I think it will be a fulfilling adventure overall :)
