With the funicular in the Basque Country

With over 100 years of history, the funicular in the Basque Country in San Sebastian, Spain is the third oldest in Spainis the most popular way to get to the top of Monte Igueldo. Experience a trip back in time in the wooden carriages and ascend like the visitors of the old casino or the dance hall decades ago. The funicular railway, whitch still maintains is originalcharacter and operating system was built by the Monte Iguledo Corporation. Here a view from the top. Awesome!

The line was built following the designof the engineer Emilio Huici,whilst the building work were directed by the engineer Severiano g. The different components of the installation were supplied by the Swiss company Von Roll.

It climbs a height of 151 m. along a route that is 312 m. long, reaching maximum sloped of 58%.
