World Day of the Snowman
The World Day of the Snowman is celebrated today on 18 January. The date goes back to the shape of the snowman, the 8 symbolizes the snowman and the 1 stands for his stick or broom, was first celebrated in 2011.
So beautiful and simple three balls here missing a carrot, two pieces of coal, a broomstick, a hat or bucket that's about what a snowman looks like and smiles very often . Who invented it?
Even Michelangelo reported that he sculpted sculptures out of snow. According to current knowledge, the snowman originated in Germany; in a Leipzig children's songbook from 1770, it appears in a copperplate engraving.
