Larry Is Alive #063 I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday, the second working day of the week and as usual Larry the postman woke up quite early to continue his mail delivery duties. Larry could be seen gracefully dispatching his parcels and I am sure you can get paid for just hunting and finding him in his selected routes. But before we start the Larry hunt, let us take a look at today in #history.

Gentlemen, do you know that on this day in 1943, Nazi forces put an end to the month-long Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which saw Polish Jews, under the leadership of Mordecai Anielewicz and the Jewish Fighting Organization, fight against being sent to the Treblinka extermination camp.

Do you also know that on this day in 2007, Nicolas Sarkozy took the oath of office as President of France. After losing the 2012 presidential election, he made history by becoming just the second French leader since the establishment of the Fifth Republic in 1958 to lose his attempt for reelection. .

Also, on this day in 1961, General Park Chung-Hee took control of the government apparatus, disbanded the National Assembly, and enacted a stringent prohibition on political activities as the military seized power in South Korea, overturning the Second Republic.

Furthermore, on this day in 1920, the French national heroine Joan of Arc was canonised as a saint by Pope Benedict XV.

Finally, on this day in 1966, the American singer and actress Janet Jackson, whose full name is Janet Damita Jo Jackson and also the youngest of nine siblings in Motown’s famed Jackson family was born in Gary, Indiana, U.S.A. Happy birthday to her.
