Larry Is Alive March 21, 2024: I Am Alive Challenge

Hello everyone and warm welcome to my Larry hunt for thursday, the 21st day of March, 2024. It was a quiet day for Larry in his business of deliveries. Most clicks were not distributed as a result of excessive work the previous day. Hopefully, he'll recover and distribute more clicks in weeks to come.

Larry then veers off to have a look at today in #history.

Larry begins his look at today in history from England. He finds out that on this day in 1556, Thomas Cranmer, the first Protestant archbishop of Canterbury, was burnt at the stake for violating heresy rules updated by the Roman Catholic queen Mary I, sometimes known as Bloody Mary.

From England, Larry goes to France. He finds out that on this day in 1768, Joseph Fourier, a French mathematician who had a significant impact on mathematical physics with his The Analytical Theory of Heat (1822), was born in Auxerre.

From France, Larry goes to Mexico. He finds out that on this day in 1806, Benito Juárez, the Mexican national hero, was born in San Pablo Guelatao, Oaxaca.

From Mexico, Larry goes to South Africa. He finds out that on this day in 1960, Police killed around 70 Black African demonstrators in Sharpeville, Gauteng province, during a demonstration against South Africa's pass laws.

From South Africa, Larry goes to the USA. He finds out that on this day in 1965, American civil rights activists, led by Martin Luther King, Jr., started a protest march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama.

Finally, Larry rounds off his look at today in #history from Namibia. He finds out that on this day in 1990, Namibia gained independence after 106 years of rule by Germany and South Africa. Happy independence anniversary to them.

Having seen all these pieces of historical events, Larry zooms off to begin his daily deliveries.
