The Belly button myth: LOH #300

When I was younger I grew up with my dad and my relatives where my neighbor so all the children were vulnerable to messages so every time we were sent on one errand or the other during the time we were sent our elders would spit directly on the ground and told us that if we return after the spit on the ground has dried up on bellybutton would rotten up forever and they would not be held accountable. so for fear of our bellybutton rottening we would run and run and would not stop running untill we have gone and we are back b

But one faithful day I was sent father than usual and when I got back the spit that my grandma spat on the ground had dried up and she didn't even pay attention it so with fear I started monitoring my belly button I told my siblings they were scared for me but the whole week my belly wasn't rottening but the first few days after the event I was hallucinating the whole effect I was crying and biding my belly button goodbye

When I found out it wasn't actually true that my belly button wasn't rottening I stopped running as much as I usually did and I spread the news to my friends they tried it themselves and found out it was just a strategy to hasten our footsteps when sent on errands"

You could pull a prank on your young nieces and nephews when they next visit you, or you visiting them is to suddenly scream, "I lost my belly button!" and tell them that the first one who finds it gets a 1000 Naira reward while showing the bandage covering your belly button. And watch the reaction. 🤣
