Entering the New Year.......

“I’d rather be partly great than entirely useless.” Neal Shusterman

Today I came across a post by @theindiankid in which he displayed his despair with the following words

I have never done activities like resolution planning and the reason is quite obvious - I fail.

Honestly speaking, it is quite relatable. For taking part in the current featured post by Hive Learners, I was having a similar kind of feeling: “Will I really able to accomplish the goals I make?” The reason is obvious. I made goals which I failed to accomplish. However, the thought couldn’t stop me from planning. I might not accomplish all but setting targets is always helpful as it keeps us focussed and directed. We have a line to work so that we do not remain stagnant with confusions and bewilderment. So I have some goals to start the new year with enthusiasm, direction and optimism.

It has been more than one and a half year since I have been on the platform. It is embarrassing to tell that I still don’t know how to swap tokens on hive engine wallet; neither I know how to trade hive outside the platform. I have tried several times to learn the process but for one reason or the other, it just stuck in the midway. So, my first goal is to learn trading within and outside hive.

Lately, I am hearing about several promising projects on hive with their tokens built on hive engine. My second goal is to learn their details and invest in some. While I am not sure which other tokens I would invest in, there are two about which I am pretty sure. One is leo and the other one is Alive.

While setting up Hive goals, how can we forget Hive Power. As of today, my hive power is slightly above 1600. I wish to become a dolphin by the end of year 2023. Lolz. It is just a wish which doesn’t seem realistic to me 🤣. Setting up a realistic goal (keeping my post reward and other circumstances in mind), my target is to reach 3000 hp. Moreover, I missed Hive Power Up Days (HPUD) several times this year. Coming year, my goal is to take part in all the twelve HPUDs.

The next goal is about Dreemport. Being an ambassador there, I have a goal to bring at least one new member to the port. Also, I have to accumulate more dreem tokens by participating in the contests.

The other day, I was hearing a speech. The speaker told the strategy to reach farther destinations. He said that the marathon racers manage to cover long distances not because they have a farther target, instead they choose a nearer place as their ultimate target. Once it is achieved, they set another short term target. This way, longer distances are covered without stress and anxiety. Observable destinations are easier to get to. It makes sense, doesn’t it? Keeping this in mind I have decided to make monthly, weekly and daily goals. I hope it would help me attain what I have aimed to.

Thanks for reading.
Happy New Year 😃

As someone who has run multiple very long-distance events, I agree very much with the wisdom of this:

Observable destinations are easier to get to.

It's useful for me to be reminded of this also 😉 !LOL

my first goal is to learn trading within and outside hive.

What sort of support do you need in order to learn this, sister? (For the record, there are several things on here I don't know how to do either; I rely too heavily on my partner for all the things he knows. I too need to learn them this year on my way to becoming a dolphin 🐬)

Do you want me to connect you with some (kind!) people on Hive who are good at teaching this stuff (or who might know others who are great at it)? Or do you just need some accountability to learn the things you know you want/need to learn?

Please, let me know about them. I know someone who guides well but mine and his timings clash. When he is available I am not and vice versa. Moreover, while learning some registration issues emerge so we have to leave in the midway and it takes forever to start learning again.

And look at the LOLZ comment below, it says something about run ..... related to the word you used in your comment

!LOL that's funny :P

I'm not sure what sort of help you need exactly, but maybe when @forykw gets back from his hiking holiday he might be able to make some suggestions. I know he's very busy so he wouldn't be able to teach you one-on-one but he knows a lot about a lot of stuff on here.

José, where would you recommend Amber go to learn the things she's mentioned in her post? Is there anyone awesome you can connect her with that might be able to help and a patient teacher?

Important note: You both have English as a second language, so please be deliberate in your wording as you write to each other 😁
