This week..... shopping with kids

(Edited)

Yaaaaaaay. It’s another Friday with another opportunity to participate in fun-filled contest organized by @dreemport in collaboration with Market Friday by @dswingle.

3f9b30817705869d5014441fc288f300df2e0c3f579c1b773b7fa3a78a24ad9b.0.png

For this week I have something to share from a small super market in a locality of Karachi City. The market’s name is Buy Time Super Market. There you can find various types of items including confectionary, grocery, dairy, bakery, drinks, crockery, jewellery, perfumes, accessories and makeup, toys, stationery, footwear, garments and undergarments. However, it is not that big a store and so the variety may not feel satisfactory in all the kinds of product. Nevertheless, it is not useless to give it a try especially when you are not really in search of a particular brand. Sometimes, you may find a unique thing in a good price that you have been searching for a long period of time. It’s up to luck smile 😊.

My kids were eagerly waiting for their summer vacations to spend their Eidi for their shopping. Some of you might me wondering what Eidi is. Eidi is a cash amount that younger in a family receive as a gift from their elders on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitar. Eid-ul-Fitar is an event that marks the end of the Holy month of Ramadan. I had promised my sons to take them to the market where they would buy the product of their choice. Last weekend was the time to fulfil the promise. I took both of them with me, but oooooops..... I couldn’t capture the snapshot of the market from outside, as my kids were with me so it was dangerous to leave their hand amidst the way. We were on foot na 🚶‍♀️ 🚶‍♂️.

I couldn’t capture the snapshot of every section. As you might know how difficult it is to shop with young kids. They may demand for very expensive item or they may have difficulty choosing what they actually want. Moreover, if there is something that doesn’t interest them they would kill you with their questions and complaints 😟. That’s why I took photographs of some places leaving the others.

On the ground floor of the store items if confectionary, grocery, dairy and drinks are present. Here is the rack of diapers of various brands. Their price ranged from 3.5$ to 8.5$ for a packet of fifty pieces.

IMG-20220617-WA0012.jpg

Here 👇 is the rack for packaged milk of various brands. The price for 200 ml packet were 0.21 to 0.225 $.

IMG-20220617-WA0015.jpg

Here👇 is the rack for various sauces and mayonnaise flavours including plain mayonnaise, mayo garlic, sandwich spread, chicken spread etc. The price for each 500ml pack ranged between 1.6$ to 1.8$.

IMG-20220617-WA0013.jpg

Here 👇 are the racks for a range of biscuits. The price of each box ranges from 0.6 to 0.75$

IMG-20220617-WA0002.jpg

This pack of cake rusk comprising of 8 pieces costs 1$.

IMG-20220617-WA0001.jpg

Here is the refrigerator for dairy products including butter, yogurt and cheese. According to price mentioned on the list various products range from 0.25 $ to 2.5$.

IMG-20220617-WA0000.jpg

I took this snap in a hurry so couldn’t take a clear picture of price list. Otherwise, I would be able to tell the exact prices for exact quantities.

Well our shopping had nothing to with anything on the ground floor. We went to the first floor where my kids bought the products of their choice. We spent most of the time in the toys section and Lol I don’t have a single picture for it. 😆
Nothing to worry. I have taken the picture of what they have bought.
Here is the set of swords and bow.

20220613_191442.jpg

My elder son bought it for him and he was so quick to open it that I couldn’t even take a picture in its pack. It cost us 2.75$.

Here is the thermos. This is also bought by my elder son for school. It cost us 1.6$.

20220613_191141.jpg

Here is the packet of 12 colour pencils. It cost us 0.8$. These colours are of good quality with soft lead for easy colouring.

20220613_191354.jpg

We bought two packets if them. One for each boy 👦
Here is the toy that my younger one bought for him.

20220613_191202.jpg

It is a fish catching toy. It uses two AA cells for moving the fish in a circle. He also bought cells for this toy.

Here is the hanger for earrings. Their Price ranged from 1 to 2 dollars.

IMG-20220617-WA0008.jpg

Here are some racks for various types of crockery.

IMG-20220617-WA0004.jpg

IMG-20220617-WA0006.jpg

I couldn’t notice the price for everything, yet I had seen the prices for melamine plates. Their price ranged from 0.4 to 1 dollar.

Now coming to the challenge by dreemport this week. When I visited the market I had no idea what demands dreemport would do. Hehe. So I decided to go through my gallery and figure out if there id anything that would meet the challenge demands. And...........
Here we gooooo.....

Something Bubbly
Hmmm..... My younger one bought something that was bubbly. It is not a food product, yet it has bubbles- colourful bubbles that pop; and provide a good exercise for fine motor muscles of fingers. Also, they have relaxing effect on your mood.. What’s that??? 🤔
That’s the pop it!

XiaoYing_Video_16554627421551655462749.gif

Ptt, ptt, ptt....BUBLYYYY 😃
By the way, this bubbly thing cost us 1$.

Something prickly
Did we buy anything prickly? Ahaan! There is something that would give me a sensationally prickly effect on my skin when I will remove it after application on my skin... hehe.... what’s that?
That is wax for removing extra hair. 🤣

20220613_191704.jpg

Its price was 0.75$ for 70 grams.

Something that smells good
For smells , there is an image for the rack of several varieties of perfumes and body sprays.

IMG-20220617-WA0009.jpg

As I told you already that I was not aware of challenge questions for this week, this is an image that was captured by chance. I had no intention of buying any perfume. Though I love smells a lot, yet I avoid wearing them because of my son’s asthma.

Something that called my name
Yeah.....! There was something that was calling my name out loud there. However I didn’t buy it because the one I liked was expensive so I just took a picture of it.
Naah naah! It is nothing to eat. Instead, it is something to carry with you. A hand bag....... 👜. Hehe.

IMG-20220617-WA0007.jpg

There was not a very wide range for bags. The one I liked had a price tag on it of 11$. Seriously, I was not ready to pay this much for a hand bag while I have some other important things to spend on. I would buy it some day when Hive would reach to moon again 🚀.
The prices of bags on this stand ranged from 3 to 11 dollars depending on their quality..

So, friends......!
That’s all for today’s trip. Eagerly waiting to see you all next Friday with a new trip, new energy and new challenge questions. I hope I would find them earlier this time. 😃.

What a nice shopping weekend! That's something I haven't done in ages. We have a neighborhood mall that's ten minutes away, yet we hardly go there. LOL! In time, I guess, when the situation improves locally. It's no fun shopping around wearing masks (still required). Have an enjoyable weekend!

Shopping with SOPs is really not a very exciting experience. I hope we would return to normal soon.

Hmm prices of everything are going higher and higher ( what dropping is only crypto market lol)

These puppets haha I included the same as bubbly stuff. We have related experiences Nah. Prickly 😬 much prickly 😒 screaming prickly... Experienced once and took an oath that it's the first and last time 🤪

You bought nothing for yourself ?🥺 handbags are honestly much more expensive now, what could be the possible reasons apart from demand and stuff issues?

They have bought swords and bows still watching Turkish dramas 🥴hehe.

It's an awesome entry sis 🥳 it's hard to make capture images but you did very well??

Well you were very prepared that is for sure... you took a great selection of photos that worked well with the challenge requirements this week 😂And I know full well both the joys and strains of shopping with kids !LOLZ Seems like they managed to get some nice things with their money from Eid. I quite like that yellow bag in the bottom picture 😍 Which one did you like the most?

You made me enjoy this challenge of yours. I know how kids are when you take them out to shop. If you don't get them what they need, be prepared for their complaints 😅😅😅

I love beautiful hand bags too and I wouldn't mind taking one among those since they will keep calling my name but I don't think I would settle for any if I can't purchase them 😂
I came through Dreemport.

If you don't get them what they need, be prepared for their complaints

Ohhhhhh! What they do is not just complaints...they wouldn’t let you do anything

but I don't think I would settle for any if I can't purchase them

Exactly. Sometimes things appeal us but we can't buy them because we have more important things to buy

Seems like your sons had a good time shopping for their Eidi! I think they did really well on the selection of them, especially that they got useful things such as the thermos for school. I love that they got the colored pencils! Those will last a very long time and are a well-thought-out thing to buy.

I appreciate the whole tour of the store. I sent you the guidelines for #MarketFriday as you looked like you were also doing that. A very energetic post! BTW it is @dswigle not dswingle :)

My apologies for being so late this week! As you can see from my post, I was looking at a piece of property, probably three hours away from where I live and I had to go back several days in a row (spending all day there.) Six hours on the road and being there for hours took my entire day away, and here I am on Monday doing #MarketFriday! Sorry!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Rules of the Road to Join #MarketFriday!

  1. Go to the market, or anywhere that you pay money for a service.
    Take pictures! Be creative!
  2. Tell us a little bit about the market or the event. What brought you there? What did you buy? How much did it cost?
  3. Post the picture(s) Of course, you should tell a little bit about the ones you post
  4. Use the MarketFriday Community Platform to post #hive-196308 (this is not required, but appreciated)
    5. Drop the link into the MarketFriday comment section so I can find it
  5. Following me and reblogging the post so more see it would be appreciated !! Not a rule, just appreciated, more vision for more views on your posts!
    7. You must put #MarketFriday by @dswigle somewhere on your post

As always, please remember! #MarketFriday loves you!

You are right about my sons' selection for shopping. They chose beneficial things.

It is always good to see you on my post, full of energy and love. I hope the property dealing went well and you had a good time driving on road..

Sorry about the wrong spelling of your name. I would correct it

I am curious to know the reason. I made this mistake because I had written it on ms word first. I do check the tags after bringing it to peakd editor. That day I was having fever and had to go to doctor, so I just published it without checking the tags if or not they were working.
I wonder what made others to make the mistake

Oh, it's just a small thing. It happens. I honestly don't know. Most will spell it with two g's wiggle, but wingle is ine of the popular ways, probably related to the keyboard set up? At any rate, it doesn't offend me in any way.

You managed to do a fairly decent shopping excursion @amberkashif even considering the boys are a major distraction lol!!! And it's more difficult to spend when you have a family to feed and house. You did good though, but keep your hopes up, there is a rumor going around that they may have a dreemtime online scavenger hunt lol!!! Never know what's next with @dreemsteem's Dreems!
"Nevertheless, it is not useless to hive it a try especially", is this a Freudian slip? hahahaha!
"Here is the refrigerator fir dairy products" meaning "for dairy products?
The pencil pack photo needs to be reset, it's blacked out here.

This post was obtained through Dreemport.

Where are you getting these rumours from....! Hehe. Being with Tiger for more than two years I can expect anything from her.

is this a Freudian slip?

!LOLZ. It is because of the proximity of keys. I am really not a fan of writing on mobile phone, but I am not left with choice now.

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes. I have made the correction

This is a well thought out shopping you went on with your sons and I must say that they are careful shoppers. They went for things they actually needed and that's great. Lemon wax is definitely prickly😜 that's why some people yell when waxing. Bags will definitely call my names too. Did you write about something that smells nice or did I miss it?

That's true that my boys are careful shoppers. I had already told them to buy something that is needed for their school and studies and also they should buy something for their entertainment.

About Nice smells, I wrote this. Hehe
