Favorite Songs From Talent Shows, #2

It's been a few months since I wrote the first post of this series. I got busy with other things and just didn't get back to this subject until now.

This is a series of posts about some of my favorite music from the various talent shows that have been on TV recently. Most of my favorite performances are from the first auditions from shows like "The Voice" and the various "Got Talent" shows. In this post, I'd like to show you my 3 favorite auditions from The Voice Germany, 2021 season.

I have to wait for these auditions to show up on youtube, it's the only way that I get to watch them. the Voice Germany season 2021 is being uploaded to youtube right now. Most of the auditions have been uploaded and the battle auditions have started to be uploaded over the last week.

In this post, I'll show you my 3 favorite auditions from this season. These videos include the judges comments as well as the audition. If you cannot understand German, auto-generated subtitles are available. They're not all that accurate, but they do give you an idea of what the judges are saying.

This audition is my favorite of all the auditions. This is Katarina Mihaljević doing a cover of the song "Drivers License" by Olivia Rodrigo. Katarina does this song so well, with so much emotion that she gets 2 immediate chair turns, and all four chairs before the end of the song. The judge, Nico Santos goes on stage and sings a bit of a song with her to try to get her on his team, and then the judge Mark Forster sings her a song to try to get her on his team. This video has been on youtube for about 6 weeks and already has over a million views.

For my second favorite audition, this is Ann Sophie Dürmeyer with her cover of the song "Summertime" by George Gershwin. Ann Sophie is an accomplished singer who appeared in the 2015 Eurovision song contest. Her rendition of this classic song is quite good! She gets a 4 chair turn with her audition.

For my third favorite audition, this is Alisha Popat singing her cover of the song "Wicked Game" by Chris Isaak. She has a wonderfully expressive voice! The judge Johannes Oerding goes up on stage to play her his version of the song to try to get her on his team. She also gets a 4 chair turn.

I have one more audition for you that I really enjoyed, and I felt that I should include it here. This is Azarel Gottfried doing a cover of the song "Nana Triste" by Natalia Lacunza. She sings the song in Spanish. She is originally from Venezuela, but is living in Germany. She also gets 4 chair turns.
