WEIRD BEHAVIOURS

There are some certain things that I find myself doing at work and I termed it WEIRD because they are actions and behaviours which ordinarily I would never depict or do.

I am a relationship manager in one of the biggest immigration company in Africa and my job involved talking to people regularly.

This is weird enough for me because I am not a people's person. Infact i would rather not talk to you except if you are my friend but the reverse is the case now. I talk to a lot of people even when I am not workin; church, supermarket, social gathering. I find myself talking to people about my job.

Profiling People Because what we sell is capital intensive, i have unintentionally developed this ability to profile a person just by physical appearance. It is true that most wealthy people doesn't look rich infact look thry day is deceiving but we know them atleast by their skin.

Sometimes while profiling a client, the person might think that i am interested in them or something but in my mind I will be like " hold it right there ".I can enter a room now and started Profiling and there got to know the most important person in the room and I will be like " got you "

Expensive Purchases To be able to see the people that can buy into what you are selling you have to position yourself and this means going where they are likely to be like five star hotels,expensive supermarkets, luxury apartments and estates. I once bought a bottle water twenty times the actual price in a five star hotel. It was painful but it is what it is.

You spend money to make money right?

Parties and Occasions I attend parties and events both the ones i was invited and the one that i wasn't. The goal is to talk to people.

And in one of these occasions I can walked up to a potential Client pretending to have met him/she before.

"Goodafternoon, Hope you are enjoying the party. Your face looks so familiar, remind me again have we met before?

And from there we will talk more and more until I finally feel comfortable enough to ship in business into the conversation.
