What you need to know about ulcer: part 1
Hello hive community, how are you all?, I believe we all are having an awesome weekend. I wish to introduce a health topic titled Ulcer. As the name sounds, ulcer is a disease which is affecting up to 90% of individuals in the whole world.

WHAT IS ULCER
Based on research it was defined as a sores on the lining of the stomach or small intestine, which the symptoms includes; Severe stomach pain, severe back pain, discomfort between meals or during night, discomfort when you eat or drink especially carbonated drinks, chest pain and headache.
We have three different type of ulcer which is duodenal, peptic and gastric ulcer, I will explain each of them starting from part 2.
CAUSES OF ULCER
Most ulcers are caused by a bacteria called Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori), Why some ulcers are caused based on our ignorant. The excess usage of pain kill drugs or anti inflammatory drugs can as well cause ulcer, while too much stress, eating food late, skipping meals, eating open food that has been contaminated already and also eating spicy foods can make ulcer worse.

DIAGNOSIS
Anyone suffering from ulcer will be diagnosed based on the symptoms the person is having, your doctor will ask you about your symptoms, based on your reply, your doctor will test your blood, run a test for H.pylori and can as well do faecal occult blood (FOB) using your stool.
PREVENTION
Ulcer can be prevented by taking some precautions like, avoid taking spicy and peppery foods, make sure that you eat at least three times a day, always drink enough water, avoid too much usage of anti inflammatory drugs, avoid acidic foods or fruits like oranges and pineapples and also reduce your intake of carbonated drinks and also hot drinks.
TREATMENT
The treatment given to you will be based on the type of ulcer you have and the level its, your doctor will prescribe an antibiotics that will help to cure H.pylori infection and also place you on some minor drugs like antacid which provides temporary relief, you also avoid the intake of alcohol and smoking.
